Chapter 33

MACIES POV

*After the mall*

"I literally thought that old lady was going to punch you in the face." Paul laughs at Danny. At the mall Danny tried to hold the door open for an elderly woman, but she refused to budge until he shut the door, then glared at him until we walked away.

We pull up in front of our house and exit the vehicle.

"We should probably get going now. Our flight leaves in two hours." Aidan tells us.

"Aww. I'm gonna miss you guys! You need to come visit again soon." I pout and hug Aidan, then Coulter.

"Will do." Aidan smiles. Everyone exchanges hugs and goodbyes until the boys need to leave.

"Text me bb!" Garret winks and we all laugh. We go to head back inside, but I feel a hand grab my wrist, stopping me from walking. I turn back around to see Coulter nervously biting his lip.

"Uh Macie, can I talk to you?" He asks, releasing his grip.

"Of course!" I smile. I gesture for Garret, Teala, Paul and Danny to continue inside. Aidan closes the door of his rental so that I'm left alone with Coulter. "So what's the sitch?"

"Uh, well, since we were little I've always kinda liked this one girl and I didn't really know if she liked me back, so I never told her." He sighs and stuffs his hands in his pockets. "And now she has a boyfriend."

"Aw, come here Coulie." I pull him in for a hug. "What's her name?" He steps back and breathes in deeply before continuing. This is so cute that he's coming to me for girl advice.

"Her names, uh... Her names..."

"You can tell me, it's okay." I set my hand on his shoulder.

"Macie." He whispers. My body freezes and I can't speak for a second.

"Oh." I manage to say.

"And, uh, well... I just, I need to do this. Just once." He bends down slightly and pecks my lips before I can deny. "I'm sorry. Bye Macie." I drop my hand and stand in awe. Coulter gets into the passenger seat of the rental and they drive off.

What just happened?

"Garret, I need to talk to you real quick." I tell my brother as soon as I enter the living room. He rises, while maintaining the laughter that is currently being shared.

"Ya?" He smiles.

"Can we go upstairs?"

"Sure." I lead the way and head into Garret's room. He closes the door behind him and turns to me.

"Coulter kissed me." I cross my arms and sit on his bed.

"What?" Garret furrows his brows and comes to join me. "What happened?"

"He was talking about a girl he liked, who turned out to be me and then he kissed me. Garret, I feel terrible." I drop my face into my hands. "Does this mean I cheated on Danny?"

"No! No, you didn't cheat on anyone! Macie, this wasn't your fault!"

"But I kissed someone else!"

"Well did he kiss you or did you kiss him?"

"He kissed me."

"Did you want to kiss him?"

"No."

"Then there you go! You didn't do anything wrong!" Garret rubs my back in an effort to comfort me.
