Chapter 46

"MACIE WAKE UP!" Garret pounds on my door. I moan in response, but he comes in anyways. "Get the hell up." He rips my blanket off and pulls me out of my bed.

"I hate you so much Garret." I slowly stand from the floor as he opens my closet and skims through. He grabs a white Sleeping with Sirens crop tank and throws it at me, along with a pair of black skinny jeans.

"I made you pancakes. They're downstairs when you're ready." He walks back to the door and smiles at me proudly.

"Thanks bae." I laugh as he walks out, closing the door behind him. I change into the outfit and go the the bathroom to do light makeup and fix my hair. I finish getting ready, and grab my stuff to go downstairs. Sure enough Garret's sitting at the table waiting for me with 2 plates full of food.

"I didn't know how much you wanted so I only made you one, but I can get you something else if you're still hungry." He smiles sweetly at me.

"No, it's okay. Thank you though." I reply as I pour syrup over the single pancake.

"So are you gonna keep posting videos?" He starts the conversation. I'm actually glad he brought this topic up because I thought about it last night and I think it's something I want to do.

"Yes, I think so."

"Good."

"Good?"

"Ya good. Macie, you're a fucking amazing singer and you deserve to be recognized for your talent."

"Aw, GareBear." I stand up and walk over to give Garret a hug. "Heart you bbg."

"Heart you too bae." We both laugh and finish eating. I clear the table and get ready to leave. I'm glad that Garret supports me. I mean, I always knew that he would be there to stand by me through everything, but it's a nice feeling to know that he's behind me and my decisions.

I wash my hands and grab my bag to throw over my shoulder. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for me.

*April 1st*

"MACIE WAKE UP WE'RE LATE!" Garret screams in my ear. I shake awake and jump out of bed. "Jk, it's four in the morning, April Fools! Go back to sleep, goodnight!" I give my brother a death stare as he smiles delicately at me and shuts off my light, closing my door behind him.

I'm wide awake now, and I don't know how I'm supposed to go back to bed. I grudgingly crawl back under my covers and reach for my phone. My Youtube channel has grown significantly in the past 3 months and I've actually been recognized a few times out on the streets. It's insane how fast everything has changed.

I've become really close friends with Danny. Even closer than we were before. I'm still not sure if I'm quite ready to try us again, but he's definitely been a huge part of my life lately and I don't know what I would do without him. I decide to check my email because I haven't done that in a while and they just keep building up.

Spam.

Spam.

Sp... Wait what?

I click on the email and read through it.

"Dear Macie,
We stumbled upon your YouTube channel a while ago, and have since then discovered how truly talented you are. You have a phenomenal voice and your instrumental abilities are quite astounding. We've witnessed that you've taken a particular interest to applying for our school and have decided to take it upon ourselves to offer you a full scholarship to attend the musical program here at New York University after your graduation from high school. We would appreciate it if you took our offer into consideration and would love to have you as a student at our school. Of course, there is no problem if you wish to decline, but we hope to see you here in the fall.

Sincerely,
Martha Beck, administrator at NYU."

Oh my god. What? Did... What? Did that just happen? Did I...

"GARRET!" I scream with excitement. "GARRET COME QUICK!" Garret barges into my room, worry plastered across his face.

"What's wrong?"

"Read this!" I hand him my phone. He looks at it for a few seconds before his eyes widen and he smiles at me.

"Holy shit Macie!" He hands back my phone. "You... Wait this isn't an April fools joke is it?" I roll my eyes at him and look at the email again. Garret has always been the type to take April fools day a little too seriously.

"No! Why would I joke about this?! Garret, I just got a scholarship to NYU!" I squeal and jump out of bed. Garret wraps his arms around me and I do the same. "Ah! I have to tell everybody!"

"Macie, it's four in the morning."

"They'll read it when they wake up."

"Okay. Well, I'm going back to bed, but I'm really happy for you." He walks out of my room. I take a screenshot of the email and send it to Danny, Teala, Paul, Sam, Tamil, Brian and Tyler, who moved here back in late January.

Tyler has been my parental figure for the most part since he arrived and I wouldn't want it any other way. He's likes a father and a gay best friend mixed into one person who buys you stuff and gives you fashion advice.

I reply to the email saying that I would love to accept their offer and thank you so much, then lock my phone and lay back down on top of the covers. I can't believe that just happened. I just got accepted, well a scholarship actually, to my dream school. My phone starts ringing and I eagerly answer it.

"MACIE OH MY GOD!" Tyler's excited voice screams from the other end. "You're accepted into NYU!"

"Ahh! I know!" I squeal back.

"You're taking them up on their offer, right?"

"Of course!" I sit up straight and hug my knees with my free arm.

"Yay! I'm so proud of you Macie. I know that this is your dream school and you've worked so hard to get to where you are. You deserve this more than anything."

"Aw, thanks Ty." I sigh. "Wait, why are you up at four in the morning?"

"I should be asking you the same. You have school today."

"Oops." I giggle. Tyler laughs as well before he becomes silent and speaks again.

"Well, you should try and get back to sleep, but I'll talk to you later. Bye! And congratulations again!"

"Thank you! Bye!" The call ends and I clap my hands together and squeal. I might as well take advantage of all this extra time to shower and do my hair and makeup. I should look nice to match this wonderful day.
