"Should we start you off with a cooler?" He smirks and hands me a raspberry Breezer. I hold the bottle while he pops the top off.
"Cheers." He jokes and hits his cup to my bottle.
"Cheers." I awkwardly laugh. I don't know why Danny hates him so much, except for that the one time when he was being an ass. Otherwise, Drew is always really nice to me. We don't have any classes together, but he always talks to me in the halls and at football games.
"So how long have you and Danny been dating?" He takes a sip from whatever it is that he's drinking.
"Almost 5 months." I tell him and flip my bangs out of my face. Right as he's about to reply, a dark haired boy walks up to us. I recognize him as Terrell, the host of the party, but I've never really talked to him, other than one time when I thanked him after I dropped my binder in the hall and he picked it up.
"Wait, is this the girl you were talking about? Dude, she's a fucking babe!" Terrell slaps Drew's back, clearly intoxicated. I feel myself blush and take a drink. "What's up?" He slurs and I laugh.
"Ya, he's pretty wasted..." Drew pushes Terrell, causing him to almost fall.
"Well, I'm gonna find some funner people to hang out with. Later bitches." Terrell flips us off as he walks into the living room. I start to wonder where my friends are, but slowly begin to relax after a few more drinks. Wait Macie, you promised yourself only one. Too late.
"I'm... I'm gonna go look for my friends..." I tell Drew and add my empty Palm Bay can to the collection on the table.
I clumsily walk into the living room and look around for Danny. The fact that I haven't eaten all day isn't helping my current situation. I spot Teala and Paul sitting together on a couch, laughing with a bunch of other people.
"Hey, uh, Teala?" I ask going over to her. Her and Paul both look at each other before she speaks.
"Macie, how much have you had to drink?" She laughs at how dumb I probably look, but I can't help it.
"Uh, not that much... I don't think. Hey, have you seen Danny?" I ask.
"I saw him and Garret somewhere over there a while ago. I don't know where they might've gone off to though." She points to the hallway. I thank her and walk over to where she directed.
"I think I saw him go upstairs." Someone whispers is my ear. I turn around to see that it's no other than Drew.
"Really?"
"Ya, I can help you look if you want." He offers. How sweet of him.
"Okay, thanks." I try to walk up the first step, but almost trip. Drew wraps his arm around my waist for support and leads me up the staircase.
A few people, mainly couples, crowd the upstairs. Drew pulls me through everyone by my wrist. I close my eyes, then reopen them to see that we've entered a bedroom. The walls are painted white, free of any sort of posters or splash of color.
"Why are we here?" I ask.
"You seemed a little woozy. I thought maybe you should sit down." He gestures towards the bed.
I take a seat on the soft white comforter and Drew sits down next to me, awfully close at that. He leans in close to me and kisses my neck.
"Drew don't." I whisper. I try to back away, but he wraps his arm around my back and pulls me closer to him.
I try to resist, but I can't. My body is too weak. I should've stuck to my one drink only promise.
"You're so fucking hot..." He mumbles and sticks his hand up the back of my shirt.
"Drew, stop..." He forcefully pulls my lips to his and holds it there as he tries to stick his tongue into my mouth.
I use all my strength to turn my head, successfully escaping him for a second, before he picks me up and lays me down on the bed.
"Drew stop! What are you doing?!" I mumble, but I don't think he can understand me.
His hand feels up my chest before he reaches down and tugs at my skirt. I try to swat his hand away to no avail.
He pulls it off and proceeds to take off his shirt, then bringing his mouth back to mine, aggressively holding my face with his hand. He lets go momentarily and vigorously removes my own shirt, before I finally manage to momentarily come to my senses and scream.
"Help!" I yell. He continues to kiss my neck and rub up against me, as I try to push him off. "Someone please!" There's a soft knock on the door before it slowly opens and a short brunette girl peaks her head in.
Drew throws himself off of me and I quickly scramble off the bed, locating and grabbing my clothes off the floor. I quickly slip my shirt over my head, tug my bottoms back up and stumble over to her.
"Is everything okay?" She asks. She's obviously had a few drinks as well, but nowhere near as many as I was tricked into consuming.
"Thank you so much." I tell her as I do my best to stay on my feet and run down the stairs.
"Danny!" I shout, hoping that someone will hear and direct me to where he is. "Danny!" I repeat.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Danny and a tall ginger boy walk in the back door together. Relied floods over me as I stagger over to him.
"Holy shit Mace, what happened?" His laughter immediately diminishes when he notices me. "What's on your neck?"
I reach up to feel a sore spot on my collar bone. I turn to look at my reflection in the glass of the painting hanging on the wall and see a dark purple mark developing on my skin.
"Macie, are you okay?"
"It was... I... Drew." I mumble as tears begin to run down my cheeks. Anger grows across Danny's face as he pulls me into him and wraps his arms around me.
"Go find Garret, Paul and Teala." Danny tells the ginger boy. He nods and runs off. "How much have you had to drink?"
"I don't know. He just kept handing me them and..."
"It's okay, that doesn't matter right now." He brings my face up so that our eyes meet. "What did he do?"
"I don't want to talk about it..."
"Macie please. I really need to know, because if he laid a fucking finger on you, I'm going to go beat the shit out of him."
"I... I think he tried to rape me." I finally admit and allow more tears to stream down my face. By this point Danny is shaking with anger.
"You think or you know?" He asks. I can practically see the steam coming off of him.
"I... I know." The red-headed boy returns with Teala and Paul.
"Omg Macie, what happened?" Tealas eyes widen and she sets her hand on my arm.
"Go find Garret and get in the car. We're leaving." Danny hands me to Teala. "I need to take care of something real quick."
Teala and Paul walk me outside to find Garret sitting on the front lawn with a small group of other people.
"Garret, c'mon. We're leaving." Paul tells him.
"What? Why? Wait, oh my gosh... Macie are you okay?" Garret jumps up from the group and walks with us to the car. He unlocks the doors and we climb inside. "Where's Danny?"
"He'll be here in a sec. He said he had to do something." Teala wraps her arm around me and I lean onto her shoulder.
"Macie please, tell us what happened." Garret begs. I sigh before telling them word for word what I just experienced. Garret's face fills with rage right before Danny opens that car door. He's rubbing the knuckles on his right hand with his left, but snakes his arm around me before I can get a good look.
"Let's go." He instructs. Garret turns on the car and we drive off. Tonight was a disaster.
