Chapter 5

MACIES POV

I look to my side to see Danny lying next to me.

"Morning babe." His voice is raspy due to the fact that he just woke up.

"Good morning." I smile as he pulls myself closer to him causing our eyes to meet. I lean in and he does the same.

"I love you Macie." He whispers. Just as our lips are about to touch, I hear a faint voice yelling something and quickly pull away.

"WAKE UP LOSER ITS THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL!" I see Garret standing over my bed, only in his boxers. It was just a dream. A really weird dream. Why would my brain even dream that? I don't like Danny in that way. I don't think.

I sit up to see Garret already digging though my closet. For an 17 year old straight male, he has a pretty good fashion sense. He pulls out a frilly white crop tank, with a pink floral skater skirt and tells me to get dressed. I let my hair fall naturally straight and go do my makeup. A natural look to suit my outfit, but a light silver eyeshadow to match my grey eyes. I go downstairs to see Garret in the kitchen with two bowls of cereal. He hands me one and I gladly accept it.

"Mom had to go do some music thing. She'll be back tomorrow night." Garret passes me a note that mom must've left. Our parents leave without telling us all the time so it's kind of just become a normal thing. When we're both finished I place our bowls in the sink and head outside to grab the mail.

"Danny?" I furrow my brows as the adorable, curly haired boy approaches me. "What are you doing here?"

"Well hello to you too." Danny jokes. "I came to see if you and Garret wanted a ride to school?"

"Uh, sure. I just have to finish getting ready. I'll go tell Garret and we'll be down in like ten minutes. Come on in." I bring Danny inside and gesture him towards the couch. He sits down and looks around in amazement before returning his eyes to me.

"You look cute."

"Oh. Thanks." I blush. "Garret picked it out." We both laugh until Garret walks into the room.

"Hey Danny." He says, a confused look invading his features.

"Danny offered to drive us to school." I answer his question before he can even ask it. I leave the two of them to talk and quickly run upstairs to brush my teeth and grab my backpack. I check my phone and see that I have a few texts.

Wake up fucker.

He probably sent that this morning before he came in to wake me up.

Wanna hang after school?

I reply back to everyone, including Danny and Garret who are both only downstairs and leave closing the door behind me. When I walk into the living room, everything goes silent and the boys both give me an odd stare for a brief second.

"Uh... Ready?" Danny asks.
"Ya! Let's go!" I reply cheerfully choosing to ignore the awkwardness of the event that just occurred.

DANNYS POV

As soon as Macie leaves the room I take the opportunity to talk to Garret.

"Can I ask you a question?" I start.

"Sure!"

"It's about your sister... What's her favorite animal?"

"Koala why?" He asks. Should I tell him? I've only known this kid for a day yet I feel like I've known him as long as I've known Paul. I decide to just tell him. After all, she is his sister so he might be help me. "I..." I begin my sentence, but am cut off when Macie re-enters the room. "Uh... Ready?" I try to act casual.
