"Don't make him upset, try to negotiate with him. Figure out why he wants to kill you," Hotch reminded you, his arms crossed as the both of you stared at your brother in law, through the plexyglass window.
"You should go in there without your crutches, to show more pain. It might make him feel like he did a good thing, hurting you," Reid suggested as you nodded in agreement. You handed the crutches over to Morgan as Hotch helped you keep your balance.
"Alright?" Hotch asked as he loosened his grip.
"Perfect," you say with sarcasm.
"We'll be right out here, Y/N," Morgan told you as you began to limp to the door. You paused before you got to the door but then proceeded as you opened it, closing the door behind you.
You stood by the door letting the silence fill the room for a moment.
"How have you been, Ken? It's been a while since I've been to Salem," you greeted him as you tried to cover your pain as you sat down, across from him.
"Almost to long. We've missed you around here," Ken smirked, as he placed his hands on the table.
"Well, I certainly got a nice welcoming party when I arrived," you snapped back.
"It was for the best," Ken simply said. His face held no emotion. You looked over at the window and saw Hotch nod.
"Why is Michael making you do this Ken? You're a nice guy. Are you doing this to protect Alissa?"
"Don't you think I know that she still sees him every so often? I don't know what to do, Y/N. We're the ones who made the deal with the devil," Ken said in a serious tone, making eye contact with you.
"What kind of deal, Ken?" You asked, hoping you wouldn't push him to far.
"I can't say, I can't say, I can't," Ken started having to what appear to be a mental breakdown.
"Ken, Ken, listen to me," you say as you try to get his attention. He looks up with you with a glint in his eye.
"Ken?" You say, beginning to stand up.
"He's watching us, you know," Ken said as he looked in the sercurity camera that was on the wall behind you. Ken's eyes didn't blink and it scared you, it really did. What do they call it? Personality disorder, that's right.
"I'm fully aware, Ken," you say as you begin to limp out of the room.
"It won't be long now."
You turned around and saw Ken flash a smile. You nod and left the room. Reid was waiting for you with your crutches.
"Thank you," you tell him as he helped you.
"Personality disorder. Your brother-in-law was calling someone the devil. The three initials of your name on the girl's neck," Reid suddenly splurted out loud.
"Where are you getting at Reid?" You asked as you two made way back to Hotch and Morgan.
"Originally the devil's number is clarified as 666, therefore have three digits. Your initials substitute as the digits. Y/N, M/N, L/N," Reid said as Hotch closed his cell phone.
"Penelope is getting a location on Michael Holt. Your brother in law hinted that someone is watching through the security out breach. Morgan and I will drive out to the location-"
"I'm going too, Hotch," You told him.
"Strauss gave me orders to have you not out in the field, physically," Hotch reminded you.
"As I was saying-" Poor Reid got cut off again.
"Well, then I'm just going to have to take up with Strauss when we get back. I'm the one who Michael wants to see," You pointed out.
"I'm aware of that. We don't need another incident where you get hurt, Y/N. You've been in enough pain already," Hotch argued.
"Well, I've been in pain all my life. What's a little more when it could help solve my past and comfort some families?" You snapped and limped out of the room.
"She's got a point," Reid said to Hotch as you got out of room.
"I know. What were you trying to explain earlier by the way?" Hotch questioned Reid.
"Right. Well you know how this traces all back to the Witch trials? Michael might have known that his parents were killing the other girls at the orphanage. What if Michael thinks that Mr. Brandson is the devil? It seems so twisted but actually, from his standpoint it isn't," Reid took a breath, allowing Hotch to ask a question.
"So what Michael think of his mother?" Hotch implied, as he got his cell phone.
"That she's the devils wife. And it just so happens that her name is Lily. The devil's wife name was Lilith, so in his mental state of mind it plays out a fantasy in his part making him be-"
"The devil's child. The cursed child," Hotch answered as he and Reid exited the room.
You were sitting on the bench outside of the office when you saw Hotch and Reid.
"Y/N, ready to go on the field?" Hotch asked as you looked up, tears hanging in your eyelashes. Reid looked at you with sympathy.
"I'm already on the field, what are you talking about?" You joked as you awkwardly wiped your eyes.
Hotch smiled and helped you up.
"But weren't we suppose to interrogate my sister and brother-in-law before?" You asked as you, Reid and Hotch went outside.
"I think that can wait, besides Garcia got a location on Michael," Hotch told you as you climbed into the back of the SUV.
"Where?" You asked, as you fastened your seatbelt.
"An old shed, outside of town. Mr.and Mrs. Branson might have already left the county perimeters," Reid filled you in.
"Shed. Oh gosh, why didn't I think of that in the first place?" You cursed under your breath and with that Hotch stomped on the gas pedal.
"The rest of team is already out there, too," Reid stated as you began feel stupider every minute.
