"And if you could hold your questions and comments until the end of the conference, that would be greatly appreciated," you heard Rossi announce to all the flashing cameras, all the anxious hands on microphones.
"Now we will have a special word from Agent L/N, " JJ introduced me to all the news reporters. It was a nice day outside, the clouds were calm in the sky. For a brief second, you were happy to be back home until you stepped onto the podium.
"Recently, I just received a note- a letter from our un-sub," You paused as you took the letter out of the evidence bag.
"To aware all of you, it would be for your safety to keep your children in close protection and Salem will have a night curfew which will be seven o' clock. If anyone is out past seven, we will have them come back to the police station where they will be questioned," you stopped as you saw your sister make way through the crowd. You caught Hotch's gaze and you shook your head slightly, letting him know that it was just your sister. He nodded and you continued.
"I just want to inform our un-sub, whoever he may be, that I will not be on the front lines of this case."
"How do you know if it's male?" One of the reporters asked.
"Our team accurately profiled the un-sub. We have proof that the killer is a male."
Just then, gun shots went off in a distance, causing the crowd to go in complete chaos.
"Get Y/N inside!" You heard Hotch yell as you ducked behind the podium.
Silence filled the disrupted scene for a couple of seconds.
"Hey," you jumped as you heard Reid's voice behind you causing you to bump your head on the podium.
"I'm going to get you to the police department. It's about 400 meters away. The rest of the team dispersed so they could get a location of the un-sub," Reid said in a whisper. You nodded, trying not to let the emotions get to you.
"Ready? We're going to make a sprint for it," Reid ordered as you came out from the podium.
You and Reid took off in a dead sprint, his gun in ready position. You quickly reacted as you heard gun shots coming near you and covered your head but continued running.
"Keep going!" Reid told you as he shot back in the general direction of the shots fired. Reid was right behind you, only about 50 meters away from the building.
"Almost there," Reid said through his teeth.
You shrieked in pain as you felt a bullet hit your left ankle. You fumbled as you opened the door, Reid almost falling on top of you. Another bullet came by, shattering the glass of the door, Reid protected you with his body.
The gun shots had stopped and Reid helped you move into the main room of the department.
"Did you get hit?" Reid asked as he examined himself.
"The ankle," you say as you sprawled it out.
You watch as Reid's face turn into a slight white.
"It's not that bad. We'll clean it up before the medics get here," Reid said in a rushed voice.
"Reid spit it out," you say with a grimaced look on your face.
"Don't you find it ironic how your sister didn't stop and watch the conference? She just kept walking to the building. And then the shooting began," Reid begin putting the facts together.
"My sister isn't involved in this, Reid. She wouldn't risk her career," you tell him as you place a cloth over your ankle to try to stop the bleeding.
"What if someone else making her a part of this case?" Reid asked with hesitation.
Somehow you had a feeling that he was right.
