"That was a quick hike. What happened to your leg?" Gracie asked as soon as you walked in the doorway. Her boyfriend, Thomas, was over as well.
"I tripped on my own feet and cut it on a rock. Do we have any peroxide?" You asked as you searched the cabinets for bandages.
"You should let Thomas clean that up, he is a pre-med student," Gracie suggested.
"Sure, whatever," You nodded as you walked slowly to the couch. You flipped on the TV, the news was on. Of course, Gracie was entering the communications world, she had dreams of being a big news anchor.
Thomas began cleaning your wound as you still continued to watch the news.
"Hey turn that up a little, YN," Gracie asked as you did.
"Shit," you accidentally say out loud as you noticed the group of FBI agents from earlier.
"We just want it to make known that we do have a victim hot line available 24/7," the agent with the black hair said.
"Earlier this month, the Bureau has an open position for the hiring of a new team member. If anyone is interested, you can call the number on the screen," the news anchor said.
"You have a minor in criminology, right YN?" Gracie questioned you.
"That wouldn't even qualify me for the position if that's what you're considering," You scoffed as Thomas finished wrapping your leg in bandage.
"Just an idea. Besides graduation for our majors is at the end of the week," Gracie shrugged her shoulders as she went to open a bottle of pop.
You sighed as you looked over at the tv screen. The group of FBI agents you had encountered earlier were describing the qualifications for the job.
"Did you find that shed that you wanted to take pictures of? That would be a good collection for your scrap book," Gracie said as she sat down next to you. You hated how you used your hobby for an excuse, but that was the only way you could cover up your past.
"No, I kind of got distracted. I'll try again after graduation Friday," you say counting the total number of lies you have told your best friend.
"You know, I have a brilliant idea. Let's have a little pre-celebration of our graduation. How about some Chinese?" Gracie chimed in with her idea.
"What the hell, why not," You say as you got up to pour yourself a cup of coffee.
"Does seven sound alright?" Thomas asked as the two of you as he got up.
"Sure. We'll meet you there," Gracie said as she hugged Thomas before he headed out.
"We have a horrible problem, YN," Gracie said as she started to be over dramatic.
"And what's the horrible problem?" You reply with total sarcasm.
"I don't have anything to wear," Gracie replied.
