"Jessica. What the fuck is this?" Luke said angrily holding up my college acceptance letter ther I had hid in one of my drawers.I couldn't reply. It felt as if someone was holding my mouth shut. "ROSS!"
"I was going to tell you Luke-" I stuttered trying to explain as I slowly walked to him, but he cut me off. His bright blue eyes were now a dark shade of blue. I gulped.
"When huh? The day when you were going to leave!" He yelled waving the paper in his hands roughly. "Did you think I wouldn't find out!"
"Luke I was going to tell you today!" I answered back desperatly hoping he would believe me,but the look on his face made me realise he wasn't.
"Bullshit!" He barked crumpling up the paper and throwing it at my feet.I crouched down to pick it up, tears threatening to spill. I unfolded it slowly, not daring to look into his eyes. "When did you find out Ross." He asked with a low voice. When I didn't answer he shouted making me flinch. "FUCKING ANSWER ME ROSS!"
"Yesterday." I panicked instantly regretting lying to him.I bit my lip hard trying to stop myself from crying not caring if it drew blood. He walked up to me furiously.
"The truth." He spoke angrily. I breathed in and out at a rapid pace.
"2 weeks Luke. Two- two weeks." Luke's jaw clenched and he balled his fists.
"2 fucking weeks. You had 2 whole fuckin weeks to tell me Ross, but you didn't!" He shouted angrily punching the wall behind me. I had never seen him so mad which terrified me. Tears began rolling down my face. "When are you leaving."
"Tomorror night." . I had never seen him so mad and I was terrified to see what he could do.
He asked, his eye softening, but they hardened straight after. "Unfucking believable."
"I was scared Luke!" I shouted sobbing. He looked taken back, but his eyes narrowed. "I was scared that when you found out, you'd break up with me because of the distance! I was scared that when I left, you'd forget about me. I was scared Luke! I didn't know what to say, how you would react! Luke I was scared of losing you." He laughed bitterly at my response.
"Scared? You were fuckin scared." He said laughing still. "DO YOU REALLY THINK I'D JUST FORGET ABOUT YOU ROSS! AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE SHARED WITH YOU! THINGS I'VE SHARED WITH NO ONE ELSE BUT YOU! NOT EVEN THE FUCKING BOYS! I LOVED YOU SO MUCH! I CARE SO MUCH ABOUT YOU! I WOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD ROSS!"He yelled in anger and frustration. I knew he he had a point.
"Loved." I repeated. The tears had stopped rolling down my face and I stood still staring into his eyes. They were full if hurt. 'Loved'. He ran a hand through his hair and began to walk out of the room. I ran after him. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to keep it from you.I was going to tell you sooner I promise-" he shook his head and pulled my arms off from around him.
"But you didn't." He said tears beginning to form in his own eyes. I cried even harder as he angrily stomped out of my room slamming the door on the way out. A picture of me and Luke posing weirdly that was hung up on the door fell and smashed onto the floor, the glass shattering everywhere. I slowly sat on my floor and pulled my knee's up to my chest and hugged then tightly for comfort. I sobbed uncontrolably.
My bedroom door opened a few hours later and I looked up hoping it was Luke, but Meghan stood in the door way with Calum. She noticed me on the floor and dropped the bags that were in her hands as she ran to me instantly pulling me into a tight hug. Calum watched from the hallway.
"Jeka. What- what happened? Are you ok? Jeka talk to me hun." Meghan asked worry in her voice. She helplessy looked at my tear stained face and blood shot eyes.
"Luke." I choked looking down at the crumpled and ripped college letter infront of me. She looked at me sadly and engulfed me into another hug. Her eyes began tearing up at the state of me. She turned to Calum who was awkwardly stood in the hallway and mouthed for him to go for a bit. He nodded his head understanding that we needed to be alone and left. Meghan helped me up and sat down next to me on my bed.
"Tell me everything Jeka." She spoke gently careful not to make me explode into tears. I told her everything even what happened the night before. Her eyes began to water aswell but she held them back. "Aw Jeka."
"I was going to tell him you know. I was thinking about it before he found out, but he beat me to it." I choked out, my tears fallingonce again. I played with my fingers trying to concentrate on what I was saying. My heart felt heavy. "Meghan I lost him." Meghan rubbed my back trying her best to comfort me.
"Shh, no no no. You didn't. You two will work it out before you leave ok? It'll work." She spoke, but even she had doubts about it. I looked at her with sad, tired eyes.
"Meg, can-can I be on my own." I pleaded. She bit the inside of her lip nervously. "I won't do anything stupid." I reasurred knowing what she had in mind. She smiled weakly and stood up from my bed to grab the bags she had dropped.
Once she left, I layed down on my bed with my legs tucked tightly to my chest. The things that Luke had said hours ago raced through my mind repeatedly like a bad nightmare that wouldn't go. I squeezed my eyes shut trying to block out the words swimming around in my mind and the pounding head ache that began to creep up in my head. I was wishing this was just a bad dream, that I would just wake up in Luke's arms with him stroking my hair gently. His dimples poking out when he smiled.I ruined everything and I lost Luke.
