Ch.10 Cheshire Cat

(10 years ago) Alice sat against a tree and watched the kids play. She watched as little Alistair gave each of the girls daisy flowers. The girls smiled as they gave Alistair a group hug. Alice couldn't help but smile, she loved watching the kids play. She then watched as each of the girls gave Alistair a kiss on the cheek, Alistair wiped the kisses off as the girls laughed as Alice gave a small laugh. The kids then noticed Alice laughing at them.

"Alice!" little Kitty crossed her arms "Were you spying on us?"

"Maybe a little" Alice said with a sneaky smile.

"Alice can you play with us?" little Maddie asked.

"All right" Alice said as she got up "Why don't we play hide and seek?"

"Yay!" the kids cheered.

"All right, I'll count and you all hide, and no cheating Kitty".

"Aw" Kitty pouted.

After Alice finished counting and the kids hid, she went around looking for them. She saw Maddie trying to hide behind a thin tree so it was easy to find her.

"Found you" Alice said as Maddie pouted.

After Maddie, Alice founded Bunny hiding under a giant mushroom. She then founded Lizzie sitting on the grass covering her eyes

"Lizzie we can see you" little Bunny said.

"No you can't" little Lizzie said.

"Oh yes we can" Alice said.

Lizzie removed her hands and opened her eyes and saw her friends. She pouted as she got up. After Lizzie, Alice spotted Kitty hiding in a tree.

"We found you Kitty!" Maddie exclaimed.

"Come down Kitty" Alice said as Kitty climbed down the tree with Alice's help.

"Now where's Alistair?" Alice wondered as they looked around for him.

But as they searched, they couldn't seem to find him.

"Alistair!" Bunny called, but no answer.

They searched for him some more, but they still couldn't find him.

"Where is he?" Lizzie asked.

"Alistair" Alice called "We give up, you can come out now".

At that point, Alistair jumped up from inside a hallow tree stump with a giant mushroom on his head.

"Boo!" he surprised the girls.

"There you are" Alice smiled as she helped him out from the tree stump "All right let's go back now".

Everyone held hands as they walked back to the tree and they sat on the grass.

"Now kids" Alice said "I have something to tell you, this Saturday, I'm going on a mission".

"A mission?" the kids gasped.

"Can I come?" Alistair asked.

"Sorry Alistair, but this mission is just for me".

"Why are you going on a mission?" Bunny asked.

Alice didn't want to tell them about the Evil Queen, it might scare them.

"Oh" she said as she thought of what to tell them "It's actually a secret mission".

"Ooo" the kids said amused.

"What's it about?" Maddie asked.

"I just said, it's a secret mission, I can't tell you guys".

"Aww" the kids pouted.

"I'm sorry".

"So how long are you gonna be gone?" Lizzie asked.

"Around 3 days".

"But that's so long!" Alistair said.

"Don't worry, it's just 3 days, I'll be back. And when I come back, we'll have all the fun we want".

"Yay!" the kids cheered.

"So for now, let's get some dinner".

Everyone got up and headed to the tea table.

The morning sun shown through the window as Alistair started to wake up. He rubbed his eyes and saw that he was lying on the couch in Darling's little home.

"Oh good you're up" Darling said "How did you sleep?"

"Ok I guess" he said as he got up.

"Well we should look for something to eat, apparently I forgot to put more food in the cupboard".

So they went outside and started to search for food. Soon Alistair spotted some pink berries hanging off a tree.

"Hey I found some berries" he said as Darling ran to him.

"Ooo, I love Wonderland berries" she smiled.

Alistair reached his arm up towards the berries, but he found that they were too high for him to get. Darling tried to reach too but it was still to high for her to get. Just then, the berries suddenly came off the stem and floated in front of them. And then they saw a floating grin appear next to the berries, and then the full body of the Cheshire Cat appeared sitting on the tree trunk with the berries in her hand.

"Mr. Wonderland" she said with a grin "You're back".

"Ms. Cheshire" Alistair said "It's good to see you again".

The Cheshire Cat did have a name, Catrina, but most people called her Cat.

"I thought you, Kitty, and everyone else disappeared in the Evil Queen's curse?"

"We did, but I found a way back".

"How?"

"This girl name Kate brought me here, but we got separated when I went down another way in the rabbit hole. And we're trying to find her cause she might help us find our friends, and my mother".

"Alice?"

"She told me that my mother's alive and somewhere in Wonderland".

"Alice is in Wonderland?" Cat gasped.

"That's what she told me, but I have to find her so she could help us, do you know where she is?"

"Uh, I never heard of a Kate here".

Alistair gave a sigh.

"So where are you guys going?" she asked.

"We don't know actually" Darling said.

"We're just hoping we'll find someone who could help us" Alistair said.

"Why don't you ask the Caterpillar? He is the wisest one in Wonderland".

"The Caterpillar" Alistair gasped, remembering the wise hookah smoking caterpillar "Why didn't I think of that before?"

"Do you know where we could find him?" Darling asked Cat.

"Well some go this way" Cat pointed to her right "And some go that way" she pointed to her left "But if I were you, I'd go that way" she pointed behind them.

"Well thank Ms. Cheshire" Alistair said "And I'll make sure you see Kitty again".

"Thank you" Cat said as she tossed the berries at them and Darling caught them "And good luck".

She then started to disappear leaving her grin behind, and then is disappeared.
