Ch.34 The Jabberwock

"Alistair!" everyone called as they searched for him "Alistair!"

"Alistair!" Kitty called from up a tree.

"Alistair?" Maddie lifted up a large rock revealing a hole as momeraths scrambled out of the hole.

After a while of searching, everyone gave up and gathered back at the fire.

"I can't find him anywhere" Lizzie said with a worried look.

"Neither can I" Maddie said nervously.

"Where could he be?" Bunny asked "He shouldn't of ran off without us".

"Oh man" Chase said with a scared look "You think Courtly took him?"

The girls gasped.

"Well he was alone in the woods" Darling put in "But we can't be sure of that, I say we look for clues".

So they all went down the trail where they saw Alistair go and came upon the river. They then started to look for clues. But when Bunny looked down, she saw what appeared to be footprints in the mud.

"Hey I found some footprints!" she exclaimed as everyone ran to her and saw the prints.

They then noticed that that prints lead down a trail.

"But there's only one pair" Lizzie put in.

"Then that must mean Alistair wasn't captured" Darling said "I mean, there's no signs of struggle, so he must of gone by himself".

"But where?" Bunny asked "And why?"

"Only one way to find out, come on" Darling said as they followed the prints.

Alistair watched as the moonstone was getting brighter as he continued going straight. He eagerly zipped pass the woods with a good feeling that he will finally find his mother. But when he went out of the woods, he looked up and gasped at the sight that stood in front of him. There stood a dark castle with dark clouds above.

"I don't remember this being in Wonderland" Alistair said to himself.

He then looked at the moonstone that was getting brighter, he then took some steps forward and saw the glow get brighter. He looked at the castle, he knew his mother must be inside. He went towards the castle and to the door, knowing that his mother was somewhere inside, he took a deep breath and slowly opened the door. He stepped into the dark place and closed the door. He used the light from the moonstone to guide his way down the dark and creepy hallway. He was getting an uneasy feeling as he looked at the cobwebs that hung on walls. He then entered an empty throne room. He walked around hoping to find someone that could help him, or at least his mother.

All of a sudden, he got a feeling that something was behind him, he tucked the moonstone into his shirt and turned around to see a man in dark cloak with a staff with a blue orb on top in his hand.

"Well" the man grinned "I didn't expect you to come here by yourself Mr. Wonderland".

"Uh, who are you?" Alistair asked.

"You can call me Mr. Jabberwock" he said with an evil look.

Alistair gave a small gasped as he took a step back.

"I've been expecting you Alistair" the Jabberwock said "Look at you, you look so much like your mother".

Alistair held up his bravery as he remembered the glowing moonstone.

"Speaking of my mother" he said with a frown "Where is she?"

The Jabberwock gave a small chuckle "What makes you think I know where she is?"

"Don't play with me" Alistair scowled "You know where she is, you just wont tell me".

"And maybe I wont tell you".

"Look" he scowled "I was told that my mother was alive and in Wonderland, and I'm not leaving until I get her back".

"Who told you that?"

"Well, Courtly Jester did first, but then Caterpillar told me, and everyone knows he's never wrong".

"You don't say".

"Well what do we have here?" Courtly as she flipped into the room "Alistair Wonderland is here?" she asked with a sarcastic smile.

"Courtly" Alistair scowled.

"Turns out he lead himself here" the Jabberwock grinned.

"Wait, you're still gonna give me my wish right?" Courtly asked.

"I'm gonna have to think about that, cause you didn't actually bring him here, plus you didn't bring his friends too like I told you to".

"Oh come on!" Courtly whined "Do you know how hard it was find this twit?!"

"Hey!" Alistair frowned.

"I almost had him until that Lizzie Hearts kicked me through a window! I even fell into a puddle of mud! And I still got some mud on my undies! So I think I deserve my wish".

"Like I said I'll think about it Ms. Jester" the Jabberwock said annoyed "Cause you still didn't bring his friends along to watch".

"Watch what?" Alistair asked, but they ignored him.

"Now that was probably because I was focusing more of getting him" Courtly point to Alistair "You see I decided to be a joker and told that Bunny Blanc a major secret that cause her and the Wonderland girls to fight, and you should of seen it it was hilarious!"

"Wait" Alistair's eyes widen as he turned to Courtly "You were the one who caused them to fight?!"

"Uh, were you not listening?" she asked with sarcasm.

"Courtly!" he yelled angrily "Do you realize what you did to all of us?! You ruined our friendship! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the girls fighting, especially since it was over me. And now, our friendship is sinking because of you! You always ruin everything! And that's why no one likes you! Cause all you care about is yourself!"

"Well that was harsh" Courtly frowned with her hands on her hips "And most of it pretty true".

"Enough" the Jabberwock said as he turned to Courtly "You, bring me his friends, and you-" he pointed to Alistair "I'll deal with you later".

And with that he used his powers to teleport Alistair into a cell. Alistair tried to open the door but found that it was locked. He couldn't believe it, he was really hoping he'd find his mother, he pulled out the moonstone and saw that it was still glowing, indicating that she was somewhere in the castle. But now, he may never find her now that he can't get out of the cell. Feeling hopeless, he sat in a corner and buried his face in his hands, knowing that he had lost.
