Ch.33 The glow

"What?" the girls gasped at Alistair's answer.

"You heard me" Alistair said "I'm not choosing either of you".

"But-" Kitty said "Don't you at least have feelings for one of us?"

He gave a sigh.

"I don't know anymore" he said "I mean, we all have been through a lot, but seeing how jealous you all were of each other, I'm starting to think that I'm not even ready for a relationship".

"But Alistair" Bunny said with a sad look "What about us?"

"What about us?" he asked.

"I thought- I thought that you had feelings for me".

He sighed "I care about all of you, but the way you all were acting was so immature, and not only were you hurting each other, but you were hurting me. It hurts me to see you guys fighting, especially over me. And I'm not gonna date a girl who acts like this".

The girls were starting to feel guilty.

"And I mean it when I say that I'm not ready for a relationship" he said with a sad look "And I think I just need some a lone time, I'm sorry girls".

And with that he headed towards the woods.

"Where are you going?" Darling asked.

"I just need to be alone for a while" he said as he headed into the woods.

After he left, all of the the girls felt their hearts breaking with guilty looks on their faces. Bunny felt a tear drip down her cheek, she didn't know which pain was worse, when her friends disappeared in the curse, or this. The others girls started to feel their eyes water. They didn't know what to do now.

Alistair went into the woods and spotted a river, he went to it and sat on a boulder and watched the river flow. He then rubbed his forehead as he thought about what happened. He was still shocked for the girls fighting over him. And he did feel that he needed a break and some alone time. But when he looked down, he saw something on the moonstone pendent, he looked closer that it was a slight glow!

"What the?" he gasped as he got up.

He took a step back and the glow disappeared, he then took a few steps forward and it started to glow again.

"No way" he gasped again.

The moonstone was glowing, that meant that his mother was nearby! Forgetting the whole love problem, he walked ahead as he followed the glow. At that point Courtly peeked from behind a tree and watched him go.

"Where's he going?" she asked herself as she decided to follow him.

Everyone sat around the fire as the Wonderland girls couldn't stop thinking about what happened. They were avoiding eye contact with each other as they had guilty looks on their faces. Just then Darling spoke up.

"Are you girls seriously not going to talk to each other?" she asked.

The girls glanced at her, then ignored her.

"Oh come on at least apologize to each other" Darling said.

But the girls were too stressed to say anything.

"Ok" Darling said as she stood up with confidence "I know you all are feeling really stressed and guilty right now, but do you really want this love problem to tear you all apart? I know it's hard to be caught up in this love... pentagon I think, but this shouldn't tear you all apart. You all have been friends since the beginning, and are you really gonna let love beat you guys up?"

The girls felt their eyes water as Darling gave a sigh.

"Love can hurt" she said with a sad look "And I know how you all feel".

"How do you know how we feel?" Kitty asked "All you have are guys gushing over you and you shove them away, how exactly do you know how we feel?"

Darling sighed.

"Ok the way I feel is a bit different from you guys" she said, thinking about Chase "It hurts to love someone and not be loved back, but for me, it hurts to love someone and not having the courage to tell them".

"Wait" Lizzie said with a surprised look "You like someone don't you?"

"I do" Darling sighed.

"Is it Alistair?" Bunny asked.

"No it's not him, it's someone else, but I'm not saying who he is though".

"But Darling" Maddie said "You're a brave girl who's willing to face many dangers, but you don't have the courage to tell this guy how you feel?"

"I'm not always brave at everything" she said with a sad look "Love can be fearful, it's what I'm afraid of. Not only am I just shy to tell him, but I'm afraid that if my whole family finds out, then, they might not let us be together".

"Is he a knight?" Lizzie asked.

"Well yes but, I don't think he's the kind my family wants me to marry" she sighed "But this isn't about me right now, this is about you guys. So what I'm trying to say is, even though love has ruined many friendships before, don't let it ruin yours. You're friendship is powerful, and don't let love tear you all apart".

Lizzie was starting a shed a tear as she felt her heart pound with guilt.

"I'm sorry" she cried.

"I'm sorry too" Kitty cried.

"I've acted like such a bitch" Maddie cried.

"I feel terrible now" Bunny cried.

The girls then got up and went into a group hug as they sobbed while apologizing. Darling gave a small smile as she watched them make up, but at that point Chase came back with some firewood.

"Uh, guys" he said with a scared look as they all looked at him "We've got a problem".

"What?" Darling asked.

"Alistair's gone".

"What?" they all gasped.

"What do you mean he's gone?" Bunny asked.

"Well as I was gathering firewood, I decided to talk to him to see how he's doing, but when I looked around, I couldn't seem to find him".

"Oh my gosh" Kitty gasped with a scared look "You think he ran away?"

"Well he did seem pretty overwhelmed from this love problem" Maddie said "But that didn't mean he should run away".

"Well we have to find him" Bunny said with a scared look.

They all went into the woods and started to look for Alistair, hoping that nothing bad had happened to him.
