Ch.46 Snickersnack

Alistair continued to run up the stairs as the Jabberwock went after him. He then came upon a large hole between him and the other side, he turned and saw the dragon heading towards him, so he quickly jumped and was able to make it to the other side. Just then, the Jabberwock picked up a boulder and aimed at Alistair.

"Alistair look out!" Darling yelled as he turned around to see the Jabberwock throw the boulder at him.

But he quickly ducked as the boulder crashed into a tower. Alistair then came upon an empty area and saw that the Jabberwock was no where in sight, he held the sword out and waited for an incoming attack as he felt his heart pound faster. But just when he thought nothing was gonna happen, he turned to see the Jabberwock shooting his head towards him with his mouth opened. Alistair quickly stepped back as the dragon snapped his mouth missing him. The Jabberwock then jumped out in front of him as Alistair aimed the sword at it. The Jabberwock punched some pieces of a tower at him as Alistair quickly moved out of the way missing the boulders. But at that point, the Jabberwock punched him across the building as he felt himself topple over a cliff, he quickly grabbed the edge as he dangled over a high level. He tried to pull himself up, but he found it hard to do with one hand holding the sword and the other trying to hoist himself up. Just then the Jabberwock came towards him and peered at him with a growl.

"Ok he needs help!" Lizzie said with a worried look.

"But how are we gonna help him?" Maddie asked.

"I got this" Bunny offered as she aimed her crossbow at the Jabberwock.

She then released the arrow as it zoomed towards the Jabberwock and shot straight into his eye. The dragon gave a cry as he stepped away from the cliff and continued to roar in pain.

"Nice shot" Chase commented.

"Now I got this" Kitty said as she teleported to the cliff where Alistair was still dangling.

"Kitty?" he said with he saw her.

"Hey" she grinned as she helped him up.

"Thanks" he said.

At that point the Jabberwock pulled the arrow out of his eye and flicked it away as he turned towards Alistair and Kitty with a mad look.

"Ok good luck" Kitty patted his shoulder before she teleported back to the group.

Alistair aimed the sword at the Jabberwock who now had his injured eye closed, making it hard for the dragon to see him. But with his other eye still working, he raised his clawed hand up and swung at Alistair who quickly ducked as the hand swung above him. And as the Jabberwock shot his head towards him with his mouth open, Alistair used the sword and swung across the Jabberwock's face making a slice. As the Jabberwock gave a cry, Alistair tried to run towards another flight of stairs when the Jabberwock swung his claws at him knocking him down. Alistair winched in pain as he looked down and saw bloody claw marks on his side. Now hurt, he clutched his wound and hoisted himself and started up the stairs with the Jabberwock after him.

As he climbed up the stairs, the Jabberwock jumped in front of him and tried to bite him, but Alistair ducked and ran under the dragon and continued up the stairs. He then made it to the top, he saw that there was no where else to go, he was on the tallest tower. He then turned around and saw the Jabberwock raise above him and spread his wings out as it gave a roar. Alistair knew he was trapped, he needed to end the Jabberwock once and for all.

"You can do this Alistair" Alice said "I believe in you".

The Jabberwock tried to bite him again, but Alistair moved out of the way as the Jabberwock missed him. Still clutching his bloody wound, Alistair used the sword to make a slice on the Jabberwock's ankle. As the Jabberwock gave a cry, the dragon tried to grab him but he ran and almost toppled over from the pain. Alistair figured he had to at least injure the Jabberwock, but badly like the pain he was in. So when the Jabberwock tried to grab him again, using his free strong arm, Alistair swung the sword and sliced off the Jabberwock's paw. The dragon roared in pain as it clutched it served wrist. Alistair gave a small smile, now the dragon was badly injured, but he then noticed a replacement paw staring to sprout out from the wound.

"Oh great" he muttered to himself.

Just then the Jabberwock blew out fire towards him as he quickly ran out of the way. Alistair knew he had to end the Jabberwock soon, but he can't seem to figure out how. With the Jabberwock moving, he couldn't seem to end it. Just then the Jabberwock's replacement paw had fully grown out, and at that point he made a fist and punched Alistair down against the ground causing even more pain. As Alistair winched in pain as he still clutched his wound, the Jabberwock raised his head above him and watched as Alistair suffered from the pain as blood dripped down his nose.

"Oh man this doesn't look good" Bunny said with a scared look.

"Come on Alistair get up!" Kitty called.

"I think he's hurt" Darling said nervously.

"Come on Alistair" Alice said with a worried look "You can do this".

Alistair looked at his hand and saw that it was still gripping the Vorpal Sword, he had to finish this, even though he was in so much pain, he knew what he had to do. Just then the Jabberwock shot his head towards him, but before the Jabberwock could snap him, Alistair rolled out of the way and got up and went towards the edge. The Jabberwock then shot his head towards him again, but this time Alistair took a step to the side and raised the sword. The Vorpal Sword went snickernsack as Alistair sliced it down the Jabberwock's neck.
