Ch.23 Old feelings

(16 years ago in London) The grandfather clock read 12:30 am, and Alice was still awake, getting ready to escape her home and go to Wonderland. She put on her blue dress, black boots, and slipped on a large trench coat along with a hat. She then went to the crib and carefully scooped her sleeping baby boy into her arms. She then quietly opened her door and peeked out making sure no one was in sight. She then stepped into the hall and made her way out. She peeked around making sure no one was around as she held her baby, hoping that he wouldn't wake up and start crying causing everyone to wake up and blow her cover. She then quietly made her way downstairs and to the door. She unlocked it and slowly opened the door. She took one glance back at her home, knowing that if she makes it to Wonderland, she wont be coming back to her home prison. She took a deep breath as she stepped outside and closed the door.

Alice went to the street and saw that no one was in sight, so she went down the street that lead to Kensington Gardens. But as she walked she spotted a guard at a lamp post, knowing that if she walked pass him, he was be suspicious on why she's out so late. So she quickly hid behind a building and watched as the guard went away down another street. After making sure he was gone, Alice continued down the street until she made it to Kensington Gardens. The park was a lovely place during the day with it's open fields and big trees that was perfect for a family day. But at night, it wasn't wise to go, especially alone, but Alice wasn't afraid, she's faced things more terrifying than going out alone at night, the Jabberwock for example. She remembered the letter said that the White Rabbit would be near the pond, she that's where she went. She soon came upon the pond, but she didn't see the Rabbit anywhere.

"Rabbit" she called in a whisper.

At that the point the White Rabbit came out from the bushes.

"Alice?" he gasped.

"Rabbit" she gasped with a smile.

"Oh my you haven't changed a bit!" he smiled "Well maybe except your age, you were 17 when we last saw you, and now you're... 21 right?"

"Correct".

"Well it's mighty good to see you again".

He then noticed the baby she was carrying.

"Is that what I think it is?" he gasped as he pointed to her baby.

"Yeah" she smiled as she showed him her baby "This is my son Alistair".

"Oh my" Rabbit gasped in a whisper as he looked at baby Alistair who was still asleep "This is incredible, I also have a new baby!"

"Really?" Alice gasped.

"Her real name is Bunnibelle, but we're gonna call her Bunny for short".

"Rabbit that's great" she smiled.

"Not only that" he added "Everyone else also had a child".

"Really?" she gasped again.

"Yep, and they're all girls. Hatter's new daughter is named Madeline, Catrina's daughter is named Katherine, but we're gonna call her Kitty, and the Queen of Hearts daughter is named Elizabeth".

"Oh my gosh" Alice gasped "This is amazing, oh I can't wait to meet them all, I bet Alistair is gonna be great friends with them".

"Well we better get going if you wanna meet them".

"Rabbit, is there another way we can go to Wonderland beside going down the rabbit hole, I kinda want it to be safe for Alistair".

"I do actually, we can go through the Looking Glass".

He pulled out his pocket watch and twisted the clock hands to 6 and soon a large mirror appeared showing Wonderland on the other side.

"Are you ready Alice?" Rabbit asked.

Alice looked at the looking glass, knowing that once she steps through the mirror, she'll escape reality. She then gave a smile.

"I'm ready" she smiled.

"Well let's go then".

Rabbit hopped through the portal as Alice followed and stepped put in Wonderland. The portal then closed and the looking glass disappeared. Now back in Wonderland, Alice smiled as she looked around, Wonderland hasn't changed, everything looked odd and normal. She then looked at her baby.

"Welcome to Wonderland Alistair" she smiled "You're going to love it here".

"Hey Chase I've been meaning to ask you this" Lizzie said as the group walked down Wonderland with the sun setting "Since Courtly isn't the principle of Wonderland High anymore, who is it now?"

"My mom" Chase said.

"The Red Queen?" everyone said.

"Yeah, but she's not as bad as Courtly".

"So are you still working at Wonderland High?" Kitty asked.

"I am".

"So when does school start again?" Maddie asked.

"I don't remember actually, I always forget until I get called to the school".

"So how is it like now?" Lizzie asked.

"Better".

"Hey do you all remember that little explosion we created in Freshman year?" Kitty asked.

"You caused an explosion?" Darling said.

"It wasn't those bomb explosions" Bunny said "We were all in Chemistry and Kitty was fooling around as always, but then she accidentally knocked the wrong ingredients into this potion we were making and it exploded. Luckily no one was hurt, but we all had to stay at school and clean up. And even though we failed, we all thought it was pretty cool".

"Wow" Darling laughed.

"Hey we gotta find a place to stay" Chase suggested "It's getting dark and you all know what that means".

"Bandersnatches" they all sighed.

"Well there's no other buildings more miles" Darling said.

"Does that mean we're gonna have to camp out here?" Lizzie asked.

"Oo, I love camping" Maddie smiled.

"I suppose so" Darling said "And I think I know a place where we could camp".

Darling led them to an area surrounded by trees where they set up a fire and they all sat around it as night came.

"You think we'll be safe here?" Lizzie asked Darling.

"As long as the fire is lit, we'll be safe" Darling said as she stuck some more sticks and twigs into the fire.

Bunny then gave a yawn.

"You tired already?" Alistair asked.

"I didn't get that much sleep last night" she said.

"Well if you want you can can lay on my lap and try to sleep".

"Oh" Bunny felt herself blush a little "Thanks".

She then laid her body on the grass and placed her head on Alistair's lap and closed her eyes. Alistair smiled as he watched her. Maddie, Kitty, and Lizzie watched too, and they didn't smile. They knew that Bunny and Alistair had liked each other for a while, but they were all starting to feel something, old feelings. The girls kept quiet and ignored eye contact with each other, neither of them wanting to show their true expressions.
