NOTE: This particular chapter has a huge-ass portion of English but I really did try to write an equal amount in Tagalog, I am so proud of myself (huhu). And sorry this is sooo late. I don't have internet connection for almost two weeks so I couldn't able to post this right away and I only used mobile to keep track on my notifications. And also, Vincent's part honestly took me forever to write. Belated Happy 2016, mafias! Anyway, here we go. Enjoy reading! And maybe leave some feedbacks? :'>

TMG 49 ♠

Azmaria Bezarius

The sound of the shutting door softly bounced off the four corners of the room. Soft but still loud enough for me to hear Devy's bones rattling, cracking and slowly shattering as the sound travels from the main door to her spot on the kitchen. Now that Vincent was long gone outside the pack, all eyes and attentions are now soley nailed on Devy, who's still standing in the kitchen, silent with her distant eyes downcast, lips set in thin quivering line, palms flat on the cold surface of kitchen counter and previews work of cutting ingredients long forgotten.

The silence in the room stretched a little more to anyone's comfort, thick and heavy in the air. The sound of the ticking clock on top of the dining wall seems to be louder and louder and louder, consuming the whole space as seconds passed by.

It's me – for the first time since the cold war between Vincent and Devy happened – that vocalized the curiosity once and for all, breaking the pregnant silence with a monotone, "What happened to the both of you?" And it's all enough to snatched Devy's attention from the whirlwind that is definitely happening inside her mind. No doubt about it.

"Pansin ko rin na hindi na kayo nagpapansinan, ano ba'ng nangyari?" It's Marcus, sitting beside me on the black couch with his eyebrows knitted in both curiousity and worriness.

Devy shifts from one foot to another, nibbling on her lower lip, a clear sign of hesitation before she turns to Alex who's standing beside her for a silent question that only both of them could understand. Her eyes shook from something that suspiciously screams nervousness before a pained expression painted her whole face and she sighed, a long deep sigh of defeat.

"If you don't want to tell us, it's okay."

I can't help but squint my eyes on Marco in subtle annoyance. Trying to cover and save Devy from a cornered situation this time... I really don't appreciate it.

And good thing, Devy must've heard what's in my mind because she shook her head slowly, forcing a smile to Marco's direction that looks more like a grimace rather than an actual smile.

I don't like it.

"It's okay," she said softly, almost inaudible if not for the complete silence in the room, "Marami na rin kasing naaapektuhan dahil sa inaasal namin ni Vincent. I'm sorry."

"So, do you wanna talk about it now?" I asked, and Devy – though she still looks uncertain – nods her head before shuffling to the living room where I and Marcus are sitting.

She settled on one of the single-seater sofa, hands clasped tightly on her lap.

Humalukipkip naman ako at tahimik na nag-antay sa sasabihin niya habang pinagmamasdan ang bawat galaw niya.

She looks utterly nervous it kinda hurts seeing the once confident and carefree Devy acting like this. And it's all because of one person, none other that Vincent Mc Garden. She must've love and that attached to the Empress... so damn much.
