Vincent Mc Garden

"Kampai!" sigaw ni Marco sabay tawa ng malakas, "this night will be one of the most memorable night for the group."

"What the hell are you saying? Memorable? Anong memorable dito?" asked Devy, irritation in her voice. But the small smile planted on her lips betrayed the sound.

"Trust me, this will be."

"Too close and too weird."

Nobody has the exact explanation how we all end up here, much to my annoyance.

Eyesore neon disco lights moving at fast pace making me dizzy all over again. People bantering and whispering dirty words against each other's ears and practically breathing down their necks. Sweat slicked body grinding on some random drunk ass. Smokes clouding the whole dark loud room and filling my lungs. And river of alcoholic beveragaes all over the place.

Bar. A place that isn't my type. No. Not at all.

And so to the person who dragged me here better pray for her life now because I will surely going to strangle her to death. But that thought was long gone thrown out of the window the moment she pouted her lips, big eyes moist with unshed tears. And I had to curse myself all over again for not getting used with that stupid puppy dog face Devy always pulled into me just whenever she can. This kid surely knows how to use her cards better than expected. Damn.

"I never knew you could be this stupid." I heard Devy mutters under her breath, eyes lingering on the tipsy Marco right in the middle of the dance floor, swaying with some random girl in a short and tight blazing red dress.

I didn't comment though, setting down my empty glass on the table in front only to get another one before going back to previews position, back resting on the couch. I let her rest her head on my shoulder, limbs tangling in me. It's foreign, but not totally uncomfortable. It's actually kind of comforting because she's warm, I must say, but not aloud. It's just...

Dahan-dahan siyang nag-angat ng tingin na may maliit na ngiti sa labi bago nagpatuloy, "it's not always everyday that I get to do this, you know? And I can say as early as now that my most favorite part of this day is now that you're holding me in your arms."

The last part honestly sounds weird and it caught me off guard. It felt like I suddenly bit my tongue and lost for words. I had to think of a witty retort to dismiss her completely but I failed. And that's not endearing for myself. I probably looked dumb now in front of her.

"How I wish..." was the only words I heard from her before an ear-ripping music blares in the whole room. She stood up as soon as the music gets hyped and upbeat, smiling down at me, "wanna dance?" she asked, and I frowned in response, bringing the rim of the glass between my lips, "or nah? So the answer must be the latter, huh."
