Chapter 33: The Friendzone

"Ya no soporto que estés triste." I say to Camila after she confessed that no one can help her.

"Soy una estupida." She says closing her eyes in disappointment.

"No, no lo eres." I look into her eyes.

"Si, si lo soy. Soy una niña estupida, descarada, inútil, patética que no sirve para nada." How could she think this about herself? It hurts me to think that this amazing girl feels this way about herself.

"¡No voy a dejar que te insultes! Nunca jamás digas eso! Mírame," I lift her chin so she could be facing me directly. "Tú eres una mujer maravillosa. Me duele que pienses eso de sí misma."

"Es la verdad, soy esas cosas." She begins to cry and that's when my heart shatters to pieces. She's never cried in front of me before and since I'm in shock all I can do is hold her tightly.

"Tú vales mucho, sabes por qué? Tú haces que mi cielo vuelva a tener ese azul." I open up.

"¿De veras?" She looks at me with puffy eyes.

"Tú eres una alegría en la vida de muchos incluyendo la mía." I tell her.

It all makes sense now. Camila hasn't been in contact with any of us especially Zabdiel, he hasn't talked about her all this week, both of them have been looking depressed, the way he dissed her when I mentioned her... I know something went on between them.

"¿So que pasa con Camila? Es como si se fuera desaparecido de la tierra." I asked Zabdiel.

"Sabe, no me interesa Camila." He said sounding petty.

"¿Estas triste por algo que pasó con Zabdiel?" I ask her already knowing the answer.

"¿Por qué dices eso?" She fakes a confused look.

"Estoy seguro que él te rompió el corazón. Yo sé que al único que tú quieres es a Zabdiel, y la única persona que te puede romper el corazón es la persona que amas." I say looking down.

"Si, nos peleamos." She confirms with more tears in her eyes.

The fight that happened between them must've been serious if she's heartbroken and they're not even on speaking terms.

"Él te insulto." I say through my teeth.

"Si pero para ser honesta, me lo merecía." She says.

"Nunca hay una excusa para faltarle el respeto a una mujer." I remark.

"Lo que le hice a él es imperdonable." She bites on her full bottom lip.

"Él te tiene que perdonar." That's all I can say. Even though it hurts, I know the only way she can find peace with herself is if they talk it through.

"Él ya no quiere nada que ver conmigo... Me odia." She cries into my shoulders and I run my hands through her hair.

Her heart is breaking for him while my heart is breaking for her.

"¿Lo quieres?" I ask her referring to Zabdiel.

"Sí, mucho." She confirms breaking what's left of my heart to smaller pieces.
