Chapter 81: New York with Love

It's 1 a.m and the New Years celebrations are still going strong in Times Square. My siblings, the boys, and Joel and Erick's moms, Joel's brothers and I are all in a balcony together happily celebrating despite the harsh weather.

Gerardo and Joel's mom Patricia have been talking alone and laughing this past hour. Being the chismosa I am, I stand up to be near them and see what's going.

"Cami, ¿a dónde vas?" Zabdiel asks as soon as I stand up.

"Voy con Gerardo bien rápido, no tardó." I answer.

"Ok, no te tardes." He smiles.

Gerardo and Patricia are not that far from me so I'm near them in no time. By the time I'm next to them, she's already laughing probably over something stupid Gerardo said. I already know Gerardo is flirting with her.

"Hola Camila!" Patricia says to me.

"Hola, que onda." I smile. "Me prestas a Gera un ratito?"

"Si, claro!" She says.

"No me tardo Patty." Gerardo says to her and we walk somewhere where no one is at.

"¿Algo pasó o que?" Gerardo asks me.

"Güey, que te traes con Patricia?" I scold him.

"No seas así." He whines. "Si solo estábamos hablando. ¿Que? ¿Ahora es ilegal hablar con alguien?"

"Vi cómo le estabas coqueteando a Patty. No quiero que esto traiga problemas." I say.

"¿Cuáles problemas? Patty no está casada, esta soltera." He remarks and I roll my eyes. He's right, it's not really a problem but what if Joel doesn't approve of this.

"Is becoming Joel's stepfather your main goal? Ya te quieres ser padrastro de sus cuatro hijos o que?" I ask sarcastically.

"Pues no sería mala idea, eh. Patricia es una mujer muy bonita y aunque la acaba de conocer me encanta su personalidad." He explains.

"Te pasas de verga! Haz lo que se te pegue la gana." I laugh and walk over to Zabdiel.

"¿Estaban discutiendo Gerardo y tú?" Zabdiel asks me as I'm now with him.

"Nomás una pelea entre hermanos." I explain.

"¿De que se pelearon?"

"Nomás mira a Gerardo y Patricia." I say and Zabdiel looks at them.

"Ay ese Gerardo!" He laughs.

I'm with the boys, of course Gerardo is with Patty, and Emily is with William since he came to New York because of Univision.

"Que hermosa te vez Camila, bueno como siempre." Daysi, Erick's mom says to me.

Even though Daysi and I hugged happily when the clock struck twelve, we still haven't had a real conversation since Erick and I broke up.

"Gracias, igualmente bella." I smile at her.

"Disculpa si no he tenido una buena conversación contigo desde que tú y Erick terminaron." She says.
