Chapter 36: Confused

Camila

I check my hair, makeup, and outfit one more time before I'm ready to leave the house. I look closely at my eyes that are still sort of puffy from crying last night but the makeup is helping me. Is the person you love supposed to make you cry this much?

"¡Emily, son las dos!" I call her. "¿Te acuerdas que me tenías que ver dejado?" I left my car parked in the studios so Emily is going to drop me off.

"Vámonos." she comes into my room. "You got your car keys?"

"Right here." I shake my keys.

"Remember..." Emily looks at me once she's about to drop me off at work. "Act like if you don't care at all about him. Let him realize what he's doing wrong."

"Gracias por hacerme el paro. I owe you!" I tell her using my Spanglish once I get off of the car.

"¡Cuídate!" She says to me.

"Te quiero, fea." I giggle and wave goodbye.

Today I have to make an appearance on Él Gordo y La Flaca along with Alejandra Espinoza. I greet her and we soon get ready to be on the show.

After an hour on the show we are finished filming, Alejandra and I go to one of the lounges here in the studios.

"¡Mira! Ay vienen mis dos amorcitos." Alejandra says in a cheerful tone while her husband comes into view with their son Matteo in his arms.

"Hola lulu." Anibal greets his beautiful wife with an affectionate kiss. "Qué pasa Camila." He says and gives me a friendly kiss on the cheek.

"Aquí nomas descansando." I smile at him.

"Bueno aquí las dejo para que hablen." He says politely.

"¡Déjame a mí niño hermoso!" Alejandra says.

"¡Vete con mami!" Anibal says to Matteo in a baby voice while handing him to Alejandra. Anibal soon dismisses himself.

Alejandra and Anibal are super cute and you can tell they love each other deeply. Everything seemed to work out for them, especially now with their child. Why does my love life have to be incredibly complicated? I love Zabdiel with my all and I know he loves me as well but life really doesn't want us together. I would give anything for us to be together right now and forever.

"Tú y Aníbal son relationship goals." I say making her blush.

"Simplemente lo amo." She says with the biggest smile with Matteo in her arms.

"Me da mucho gusto por ti y por tu familia." I smile back. It does give me joy to see one of my closest friends happy.

"Muchas gracias amiguis. ¿Y como vas con Zabdiel?" She asks. She knows we have something going on.

It would sound stupid to tell her that he asked me to be his girlfriend then broke up with me the next day. What should I even tell her?

"¿Pues como te cuento?" I sigh. "A ver a este bebe hermoso." She hands me Matteo for me to carry him.

Zabdiel

"Voy a la cafetería, vienes?" Christopher says to me.

"Ahorita te alcanzo." I tell him. "Voy a mi carro bien rapidito." I half lie. I am going to the parking lot but not to go to my car, I want to see if Camila's car is still there.
