We are the deformed,
the misunderstood,
the sickly,
the physically/mentally disabled,
the "too fat",
the "too skinny",
the "not smart enough",
the weirdos,
the misfits,
the outcasts.
Yes, we are the freaks of the world
united solely because we are always on the outside.
Come, all you freaks--
let us flood the streets
walk hand in hand
and stand unafraid
I will protect you.
Raise your head, dear,
the time of fear is over.
No more shall we cower in the corner
no more shall we feel ashamed
no more shall we be pushed aside
no more shall we take shit from anyone.
No more.
Together we cannot be beaten
for there is strength in numbers
and there is never a shortage of misfits.
Let us shout loudly until we no longer can
let us sing of the injustice,
the pain,
the hell
we must endure as outsiders.
Let us pound our fists in anger--
show them that we are done being stepped on
we are done being silent
we are done pointlessly struggling
we are done letting others speak for us
we are done tolerating their shit.
Brothers, sisters, and everyone else in between,
shamelessly proclaim that you, a freak,
will not be treated as less than,
you are not ashamed of who you are,
and you will never stop fighting.
My fellow freaks,
swallow your fear,
take pride in yourself,
and come march with me.
