Why? - The Most Asked Question

"Why are you afraid of that?"

"Why do you feel that way?"

"Why can't you just suck it up and do it?"

"Why are you depressed?"

"Why does this thing give you anxiety?"

"Why do you hate yourself?"

"Why can't you be intimate with others?"

"Why can't you answer?"

I DON'T KNOW!

Please, I beg of you,

stop torturing me with these questions.

Must everything have a reason?

Can you not validate my feelings instead of question them?

How do you expect me to know why?

I am merely a victim, not an expert.

These questions hurt me,

make me feel stupid and childish--

like my feelings do not matter.

So please,

do not ask me why.

Author's Note: I don't know about you, but I hate being asked why in regards to my mental illnesses. If you're not mentally ill, then please don't ask those of us who are the question why. It's annoying and, frankly, none of your goddamn business.
