One Last Time

chapter 42 - Building ,Kath and work

I was driving to my most favorite place in LA ... the building where I went whenever I have problem ... i hope its still standing there ...

As I reach the place I quickly pick the tent and the basket I bought earlier... I run to the building but when I saw it ... it became an apartment ... I was confuse so I went to the old lady ...

Scott : excuse me ma'am , but can I ask you something ?

Lady : sure ...

Scott : what happen to this building ?

Lady : oh ... the owner of this building sold this and the new owner make it an apartment ...

Scott : can still strangers allowed to went at the roof top ?

Lady : yes ... in fact there is a girl who always went there ...

Scott : who's girl ?

Lady : I can't remember but she always went there !

Scott : thank you ma'am !

I went upstairs while running to the steps I saw people staring at me and when I'm at the hall there's a little girl who walk through me ...

Little girl : are you the one who's featured in a magazine ?

Scott : yes !

Then she run ... I open the door to the roof top and finally I'm in it ....my tent was gone but there is a little shed .. I went in there and saw my tent ... its still too and just like how I left it ... I smile ... I look at the surroundings its still fresh and peaceful ... I stay for a while and sit at the bench ... I pit the basket down and feel the air splashing in my face until...

I heard the door ... I slowly turn my head and saw Kath ... the feeling came back but I try to act cool ....

Scott : what are you doing here ?

Kath : just here ... feeling the fresh air ...

I sat back and try to just avoid her but she sat at my side ... I just keep my mouth shut coz I dont want anything to say ...

Kath : okay ! I know you felt awkward yesterday ... and you didn't speak while your there and makes me feel awkward too ... please can we just forget what happen 6 years ago ... can we be friends ...

Wow ! Forget what happen ... is that so easy for you to forget ? You break my heart and you make me suffer in a heart ache and forget what happen !? That's the most embarrassing thing I've ever heard ...

Scott : its easy for you to forget ... coz you didn't get hurt ...

Then I stand and walk away ... this place was so special to me but how can this be peaceful if she's there ...

I drive to corazon pertenece in LA to meet my co-workers ... I'm not in a good mood but I will try to be polite ... as I reach the place ... I get to the door ... it was a big place bigger than in NY .... there is a cute girl who ask me ....

Girl : are you the man feature in the magazine ?

Scott : yes !

Girl : oh ! I'm a big fan of yours can I have a picture of us and an authograp ?

Scott : sure ...

she took her camera and then ask someone to take some pictures , I sign the pictures and I can see the happiness on her face ... I was happy then ...

Girl : one more question ... your working at NY, right ? Why your in LA ? Are you in a vacation ?

Scott : um... my boss move me here so ... I'm not anymore working at NY I'm in LA now ... actually um.... I'm just here to meet my co-workers ... ( as I smile )

Girl : oh really ? Hi ! I'm Gigi ! Nice to meet you , I'm the waitress !

Scott : hi ! I'm Scott ... ( as we shake our hands )

People here are kind and adorable ....

Scott : um ... do you know where is the manager ? Mr. Jerry Walker !

Gigi : yes ! His sweet and cute I'll bring you to him ...

Scott : thank you !

She grabbed my wrist and lead me to the office ... then I saw a handsome man sitting on the chair and drinking coffee ....

Gigi : Mr. Walker this is Mr. Scott !

Jerry : Gigi for once again call me jerry ... Mr. Walker sound so old ... by the way ... I know him ... Mr. Levick call me last night ... and he said your the new master chef ...

I smile Mr. Levick already introduce me to the manager ...

Jerry : by the way ... why your here ? I thought your work starts on Monday .....

Scott : I'm just here to meet you guys and the others ...

Jerry : oh that's a good Idea ... I'll introduse you to them ...

Jerry put his hand on my shoulder and lead me to the kitchen .... when I saw them they are just 7 people Woking ... Jerry call their attentions and introce me ....

Jerry : guys I would like you to meet Mr . Scott Mahwey ... his our new master chef ! And Scott I would like you to meet Sonny ( as he point to the girly one) , Monica ( as he point an arrogant like girl ) Roxy ( as he point the pretty one ) Jake ( as he point a handsome one ) Franco ( as he point a macular one ) Grace ( the kind one ) and this is Vince ( he point to the handsome , macular one )

Vince his name as like my brother ... but he doesn't look like him ... and I can't remember his face anymore .....among all workers ... Vince was the only one that I am curious about ...

Scott : his everyone ! I'm glad to see you all !

As I walk to them and shake their hands one by one .... first in Sonny , then Monica , Roxy ,Jake , Franco , and the last one Vince ...

Vince look straight in my eyes and smiling ... I smile too ... Jerry walk me to the whole restaurant and even my work place ... he take me there ... he also introduce me to the waiters and janitors ...

I met all of them so I said goodbye to jerry and to the others and leave ... I went to my unit to rest its been a along day ... and I'm tired tomorro I need to get ready for Mac 's birthday ... but for now I need to fix my things ... so I went to my room... took my bagage and open the cabinet ... I put all of my clothes there . I put all my shoes to the shoe stand ... my things are set up so I went to my bed and lay down for a while ... afterwards I heard a doorbell ...

I went to the door and and open it ... there's no one in the hall ... but I notice a box on the floor ... there's a note ...

I'm sorry ... said the note ... I open the box and saw cookies ...
