"How much?" He demanded from the clerk, getting out his wallet to pay, but before he can, I put my hand on his.
"Adrian, really, I can pay." I said getting out my wallet of my own from my bag. When I looked up I saw him already paying the clerk.
I rolled my eyes and got my ice-cream from the counter. "Acacia! What? No thank-you?" He asked running to my side.
"Thanks." I said sarcastically and sitting down on a bench next to Alex.
"Come on! Why are you mad?" He questioned looking up at me and sitting down.
"Ugh. You know I don't like it when people pay for my things. I feel like I'm using them." His face softened. "I'm sorry." He looked nothing but sorry, and there I felt really guilty.
"No, I'm sorry." I apologized. "Forgiven?" We asked at the same time and nodded smiling.
"So, Alex, are you coming to see the play on Friday?" I asked licking my ice-cream. Adrian shifted uncomfortably next to me. "Yeah, of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world." Alex said wiping his lips with a napkin.
I smiled and continued eating my ice-cream while the boys started talking about the game.

Adrian's POV
Fuck. My. um, thing down there went hard rock at the sight of Acacia, licking her ice-cream. I tried my best to ignore it, just like I always do. "Hey, you okay?" She asked throwing away her napkin to the bin next to us. "I'm good." I assure her. She smiles at me and fixes her jacket. "Acacia!" Clara called.
"Excuse me." She said and got up to talk to her mother.
"Alright dude. Today's the day." Alex said excitedly.
"What?" I raised my eyebrows at him.
"I'm gonna ask Acacia on the date. Remember?" He asked me smiling.
This bitch. "Listen I don't think going out with her is a good idea." I frowned, but quickly recovered.
"What the hell do you mean? You were fine with it two days ago." He said holding up two fingers then quickly putting it down when he finished.
"I know, that was until I realized." I stopped abruptly, making sure what I was about to say was really what I felt. Yes.
"Realized what?" He questioned.
I took a deep breath. "I realized that I think I lo-" I didn't get to finish what I was going to say, because her voice rang through my ears. "Guys!" She waved for us to follow her.
"We'll finish this talk later." Alex whispered, then running towards her.
