ADRIAN'S POV
"My baby!" Acacia's mom yelled, entering the room with her hands held wide. I felt the tears begin to fall but quickly wiped them away before anyone could see them.
"How did this happen?" Her dad demanded from the nurse. She told the story again, and I watched as the frown of her mom, turn into a quiver. She broke out in agony.
I went out of the room, needing air. I walked down the hall and saw Alex's room and saw him awake and surprisingly alive.
"How are you?" I asked, my head towards the ground as I walked closer to the bed where his mom was.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Good, I guess." There was an awkward silence that overcame the three of us. "How can I be just good?" He asked himself. "I practically killed her. I should be the one laying on that bed, tubes attached to my body to help me breathe, medicine running through my veins every damn second, and my life on the line. That should be me. Not her." He cried, glaring at the pillow. That made our heads turn.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Its my fault. Its all my FUCKING FAULT!" He yelled, getting up and throwing the table. "Alex, Alex baby. Calm down! Its not your fault, okay honey?" His mother, Lily tried to calm him, but it was no use, he needed me. But, here I was standing by the hospital bed, not doing anything.
He stopped whatever he was doing and looked up at her. "Yes it is." Just then the doctor rushed in and his eyes widened. "Lily! We need you." She also worked in the hospital, but as a nurse.
She nodded and ran out the room. Being the curious and stubborn me, I followed quickly behind, and saw them rushing into Acacia's room.
"What's happening?" I whispered to Evan. He slowly turned to me and sat down in the chair that was outside the door. "She's not waking up." He cried, laying his head in his hands. My eyes widened as I walked into the room. "Its not picking up, sir." One nurse said.
"What do you mean?!" He yelled looking at the screen. "You can be in here Adrian." Lily said ushering me out the room. But, I ran past her and to the monitor. The line showed that her heart was meters away from stopping. I gotta do something.
"Acacia!" I yelled, tears rushing down my face. "Listen to me! You have to do this, for you, your family, and everyone you love. Dammit Acacia, wake up!"
"Charge!" The doctor said rubbing two things together and putting it on her chest. I heard the words 'clear' and 'charge' four more times until I heard a huge breath.
"Oh my gosh!" The nurse screamed. "We did it, we saved her!" Her mom smiled and hugged her father, tears rushing to both of their faces. I didn't really care about people seeing me cry. I only cried for the people I truly loved. I guess Acacia is one of them.
