You walked into the house after an extremely long night at work, you were a nurse at the hospital and you had the night shift all week so you have seen your boyfriend, Tyler, for maybe a total of 15 minutes in the last three days. You only pass by each other when he gets home from practice and you are leaving for work.

You kicked your shoes off and placed your purse done on the small table by the front door. "Tyler?! I'm home." No response. His car is in the driveway which means he didn't go to practice, and the lights are on so he's home. You walked up the stairs to the movie room where you usually find him passed out on the couch but he wasn't in there. You found your way to your shared bedroom and you saw Tyler curled up in bed with tears running down his face. It absolutely broke your heart to see him like that. He never cried so that means something is really wrong. You went over and sat next to him, placing your hand on his arm. "Baby?" You whispered, voice full of concern. He turned his head so you wouldn't see his face. "Ty, baby please tell me what wrong." He just stared out the window that was next to the bed. "Tyler, please. I need you to talk to me. Please don't shut me out again." Tyler had the tendency to ignore you and shut you out whenever something starts to really bother him because he doesn't like to seem vulnerable. "I..." He started but was at a loss for words. You moved his arm and pulled him in for a hug and he buried his face in your neck. You could feel the tears coming from his eyes as his body shook with sobs. You just held him because you could tell that's all he really wanted. "I love you Ty." "I love you." He mumbled back as he started to calm down more. "Will you talk to me please?" "I can't do it anymore." He said moving so I could see his face. "Can't do what?" "Everything! I can't be what everyone else wants me to be. I can't live up to their expectations." A whole new round of tears started. "Ty, baby. You don't have to live to be who everyone else wants you to be. You can only be the best person you can be. You can only be who you want to be. You're a hockey player and you are the best player I have ever seen. No one has the heart or dedication that you have. You don't have to live up to their expectations. You don't have to listen to anything they tell you because it doesn't matter." "But what if it's your coach and he is putting the weight of the team on your shoulders because the captain is injured." "But Lindy doesn't expect you to be superman either. He wants you to go out onto the ice each and every game and just do your thing. While Jamie is out he just wants you to show some leadership and if you do you might just get an A on your chest." "I feel like I'm doing this alone since you are always working." "I'm sorry baby. I know I've been working a lot but I'm going to tell them that I'm not feeling well and I'll spend the day and night with you. You have all my attention. And even when I am working, you can still shoot me a text if you need something. The last thing I want is for you to feel alone. We are in this together. I am always going to behind you no matter what. Unless you kill someone then we might have a problem." He cracked a smile and laughed lightly. "I love you, thank you." "Always, we're a team remember?" "We're a team." "Good. I love you too Ty." We kissed and he pulled me into his arms. "A little tight." You said since he was squeezing you. "You're all mine." He said squeezing tighter. "I can't breath." He just shrugged his shoulders making you both laugh.
