The season came to an abrupt end after a game seven loss to St Louis in the first round. To say your boyfriend Patrick was devastated would be an understatement. He sat in bed the day after the lost, the whole day, watching film and just trying to figure out where he went wrong. Eventually he broke down and you held home for a good three hours as he cried. And now things have finally started looking up again. You guys decided to visit your family down in Dallas for a few days since it's nice to go down to the country and get away. You've done it every offseason for the three years that you guys have been a couple. You grew up on a farm outside of Dallas. You love going back home because you are totally out of the public eye, which means you don't have to worry about how you look or anything and you can ride the horses and just be your country girl self.

Tonight your family was having a Fourth of July party so all of your family is going to be there and Pat's family is also coming down to celebrate with us so it'll be fun. "Ally!" "Yeah mom!" "Can you help me set up the tables?!" "Yeah I'm coming." You and Pat both went outside to help set up the tables. You set out tablecloths and napkins, etc. Then Pat went to help your dad set up the food and the cooking. You went inside to cut the fruits for fruit salad and vegetables to be sautéed on the grill. "Babe! I have to go pick up my parents, are you coming?" "Do you know how to get to the airport?" "Yeah I'm good." "I'm gonna stay and help I'll see you in a little bit." "Okay. Love you." "Love you." You kissed and then he left to get his parents. Your family started to show up, like your aunts and uncles, cousins. "Ally!" "Bryce!" It was your older brother. "Auntie!!!" "Maddie! Hey munchkin." You picked up your adorable little niece and then gave your brother a hug. "Where's Patrick?" "He had to go pick up his parents and sisters. He should be back soon." "Okay sounds good." "Now little munchkin you wanna help me bring all the food outside?" "Yeah!!!" You laughed and Maddie carefully helped you being the food outside for everyone. Patrick was finally back. "Hey sweetie." "Hi Donna, how are you?" "I'm good, how are you?" "I'm really good." You gave everyone a hug. "Uncle Patrick!" Maddie yelled and ran into his arms. "Hey my munchkin." "Missed you and auntie." "We missed you too." He kissed her head and she dragged him to go play in the backyard. "You guys can all go out back my whole family is out there." They all went out there and you finished bringing stuff outside. "Auntie come play with us!" "What are we playing?" "Water balloons." "Okay let's go." You went with her and all your cousins and your brother and Pat were all playing too. This is will be fun.

After a huge water balloon fight where there may or may not have been an attack on the adults who retaliated with water guns, and after a delicious dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and all the other barbecue essentials, your dad started a fire in the fire pit and everyone sat around. You sat next to Pat with your legs in his lap and your head resting on his chest. "Auntie?" "C'mere." You picked her up and she cuddled up with you guys. Your dad took his guitar and looked at you meaning he wanted you to sing. You nodded and he started playing cords and you sang along.

About two hours later you roasted marshmallows for s'mores and all the little kids had chocolate all over their faces which was adorable and your dad sent off the fireworks once it got dark. He bought the huge ones that are typically illegal in other states but no one cared cause they looked awesome. "Auntie, uncle Pat look look!!" Maddie said pointing towards the fireworks. "They are awesome aren't they." "Yeah." You couldn't help but laugh at her excitement because she would flinch when it first goes off and then hysterically laugh afterwards. After the fireworks came more s'mores. Patrick handed me one and I looked at it and saw a ring inside.

"Ally, we have been together for three years now and I love you more than world and I can't picture life without you

"Ally, we have been together for three years now and I love you more than world and I can't picture life without you. You mean everything to me and I don't want to lose you. Will you marry me?" You were in tears. "Yes." He took the ring and put it on your finger and you kissed as your whole family went crazy.
