You and Charlie have know each other for your whole life seeing as your parents were best friends.

You were in tenth grade and you and Charlie were sitting on your back deck around midnight. The stars were out and there was a fire in front of you to provide heat in the bitter November cold. "Do you ever think about what the future holds?" You asked watching the flames dance. "Sometimes I guess, but hockey is the only certainty right now. Do you?" "Yeah..." you trailed off. "What's the matter?" He questioned. "Well what if life pushes us away from each other in different directions?" You asked looking up into his eyes. "Then we will always find each other again because it's always been you and me. Nothing can ever change that." "But..." "No, no buts. Everything will be fine, just worry about today." You took a deep breath and nodded at his words.

"I hate you!!!" You screamed at Charlie. "I didn't mean it! Please..." "So you didn't mean to tell everyone that I mean nothing to you. Bullshit Charlie." "Please...I..." "No, just stop. I would do anything for you and I always have, and you don't care. I've always been there and I'll I get in return is pain and humiliation. Thank you." "I..." "Leave." "Please... just..." "Charlie leave me alone." You turned away from him and his tear filled eyes as tears began to fill yours but you refuse to let him see you crying. "I...I love you. I'm sorry." His voice cracked and you heard him leave. As soon as the door shut, you sank to the floor and completely broke down.

It's been 4 years since that fight with Charlie and you still haven't talked to him. He's out in Minnesota playing with the Wild and he's killing it. Not hearing from him kills you. You've tried calling him but he doesn't answer the phone. And it hurts like hell.

You just turned 24 and you decided to walk through your hometown as the snow swirls around you and people rush around. The atmosphere is calming though. You had your camera with you so you took some pictures.

When you looked up, you saw Charlie. "Pretty huh?" He said not looking at you. "Yeah it is." You responded quietly. "So how have you been?" "I'm alright, you seem like you're doing good." "Yeah, hockey is going really well." "So I've heard." "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I hurt you. I'm sorry I left when I promise I wouldn't. I'm sorry for everything." "Every time I called to make things right and you wouldn't answer, my heart shattered more and more. Honestly I gave up because I came to the conclusion that I lost you. That I lost the person I loved to most." "I didn't answer because I knew when I heard our voice I would fall apart because I hurt you. I figured you'd be angry." "Charlie my anger only lasted for a max five minutes. I was hurt and I wanted to fix things and make things right." He grabbed your face and kissed you. It was like thousands of fireworks going off. "I've wanted to do that since tenth grade." "I'm glad you finally did." You told him with a smile. "Me too." He kissed you again as the snow fall picked up creating your winter wonderland with Charlie.
