***Your POV***

I walked through the door to the apartment that I share with my boyfriend of 3 years, and most recently my fiance, Derick. We started dating shortly after he was traded to NY from Columbus. It was a long day at work, I work as a sports journalist, and I really just wanted to go home and take a nap or watch a movie. I walked through the door only to be greeted by the yelling and screaming of Derick and his teammates watching a game on TV. I forgot to mention his teammates don't like me, and say I'm not good enough for him. They must have heard the door close because they all turned. "Hey babe, how was work?" "Hey Der, it was good. How was practice?" "Good, tiring." I nodded and ignored all the glares I was getting and went to get a water. "Babe do you wanna watch the game with us?" "What game?" "It's the Yankees Red Sox game." He said, knowing full well that I never miss a Yankees game. "No I'm good, I have some work to finish up." He was shocked and I went to the bedroom with my computer and I turned the TV on in there and turned on the game. You watched the game while working on the article you were writing about the Giants. "Babe?" Derick said coming in and then smirked seeing the game on TV but then turned his attention back to me. "What's wrong?" "Nothing." "Don't lie." "You know they don't like me Derick." "That's not true." "Yes it is, they have told me time and time again to leave you alone and that I'm not good enough for you. I wasn't going to risk sitting out there with you guys." A tear slipped down my cheek and I turned away from him. He took my hand and dragged me into the living room. "Hey!" They all looked at him and I looked down. "You guys think it's okay to tell my girlfriend that she's not good enough?!" "Look..." Chris started to say but Derick wasn't having any of it. "I hope you guys are all fucking happy with what you've done. I hurts to know that my girlfriend is crying because of my teammates. What you did is fucking low." Derick was fuming so I turned him to look at him and he visibly calmed down. "We're sorry Derick but we don't take back what we said." I took my hand out of Derick's and left. I ran down the stairs and out the front of the building. I ran to the train station and got a ticket to the Bronx to see my brother.

Once I got there I went to Yankee stadium where my brother was. My older brother Brett plays for the Yankees. I went through the player entrance and they didn't question it due to the tears that were still falling down my cheeks. I asked someone to get Brett for me, I knew he was playing but I really needed him right now. About 5 minutes later Brett came over and I ran into his arms. "Shh what's wrong?" I explained everything that happened and he just comforted me. "You need to talk to Derick because I know how much he loves you." "Those guys mean everything to him so if they disapprove." "But you mean so much more to him. I can almost guarantee that he is going crazy looking for you. So give him a call please." I nodded and we hugged and he went back to play and I took my phone out of my pocket and saw all the texts and missed calls from Derick. I called him back and he answered after one ring. "Baby please tell me you're okay?" He practically begged. "I'm fine." "Are you with Brett?" "Yeah." "Brooke, I'm so sorry." "Derick listen, they aren't wrong." "What are you talking about?" "You know exactly what I'm talking about. And I know how much the guys mean to you and when we started dating you wanted nothing more than for them to like me and they don't. We got engaged in hopes that maybe they would at least except me but that didn't happen. I'm sorry Derick but I can't do this anymore, I can't do us anymore." "Brooke please don't do this. I need you so much." "I don't want to get in the way. I don't want to be the reason the team falls apart because you guys don't get along. No one in that organization likes me and I'm not risking it. Please just understand where I'm coming from." "I understand perfectly why you want to do this but I can't lose you." "I'm sorry Derick, I love you." I hung up and slid down the wall and curled into a ball sobbing. I took my ring off and threw it and screamed. The game must be over because all the guys were walking in. Brett picked up the ring and put it back on my hand but I took it off. "Brooke." "I don't need it if we aren't together anymore." "Brooke." "No." "You are making a mistake." "Of course I am. No one fucking gets it." I ran out of the stadium and had nowhere to go so I walked the streets. My kept ringing and buzzing but I ignored it. I found myself at a park and I sat under a tree and that tree just so happened to be the same one me and Derick carved our names into. I traced his name. "Looks like we had the same idea." I looked up and saw Derick who sat next to me. His eyes were all red and you could tell he had been crying. "I'm sorry." I whispered quietly. "Don't apologize, I know you meant well but I need you in my life. I need you with me every step of the way." "I don't wanna be the reason the guys hate you or you get traded." "No no no you would never be the reason and I would never blame that on you. After you left, I just broke down and they realized how much you actually mean to me. Please come home with me." I nodded and he took the ring and put it back on my finger. We kissed and everything felt okay.

We got back to our apartment and the guys were there and they apologized over and over again. I just gave each of them a hug and forgave them. "That's it? After everything we did?" Derek said." "Yeah, I know you guys meant well. But everyone deserves forgiveness." We all sat in the living room and turned on a movie and I cuddled with Derick. I was just happy everything ended up okay.
