You were in the stands of Game 5 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Your husband is the goalie of the New York Rangers. Your daughter was jumping up and down super excited to see her daddy play, and you held your newborn son in your arms hoping to keep him asleep as long as possible. This game is do or die because Pittsburgh has a lead on the series. You knew that this team wasn't ready to be done just yet. Your daughter, Bella was standing by the glass in her rangers jersey and it was honestly and adorable sight to see. And your son Lucas was in his rangers onesie and when you looked down at him he woke up but didn't make any noise which you were very thankful for. "Mama look it's daddy!!!! Daddy!!" She yelled and watched the guys come out on the ice for warm ups. Henrik came over and put his hand on the glass and Bella matched her hand up to it with a huge smile. He blew you guys a kiss and went to his goal.

The final seconds ticked off the clock and we were down 3-6 and you knew the season was over. "Mama?" "Yes Bell?" "Lose?" "Yeah baby, daddy lost." Big tears started falling down her cheeks. "Oh sweetie don't cry, daddy wouldn't want to see you crying." The buzzer went off and the Penguins cheered and all their fans went crazy. The rangers guys all look defeated and you could see tears in the eyes of some of the guys. They did their handshakes and went down the tunnel. You made sure you had everything and Bella held your hand as you went down to the locker room to see your husband. "You can do in and see Hank." Coach AV said. "Thank you." You went into the locker room and Bella ran to Henrik. He caught her in his arms and she buried her face in his neck. You went over and you guys kissed. "You were amazing honey." You tried to tell him but he gave that look that meant, to stop talking so you kept your mouth shut. The guys had to get dressed so you went in the hall with the kids. "Mama, daddy sad?" "I don't know baby girl. You have to ask him when he comes out." Henrik was one of the last guys out of the room and he ignored you guys. "Daddy!" Bella yelled and he ignored her. She stopped walking. "Mama?" "It's okay baby, let's go home." She nodded, and held my hand and we went to the car where Henrik was waiting. You unlocked the car and he threw his things in the trunk and got in. You buckled the two kids in and Bella hasn't said a word. We got home and again no words were spoken. You helped Bella out and got Lucas as well. "C'mon baby girl it's time for bed." She nodded and followed you to her room. You changed Lucas and put him to bed and then went to Bella's room. You helped her into her pajamas. "Mama? Where's daddy?" "I don't know sweet pea, I'll go get him." "No, just mama." You frowned. "Get some sleep okay baby?" "Night night mama." "Good night sweet pea." You kissed her head and tucked her in. You turned the light off and went to your bedroom. Henrik was laying in bed. "Henrik?" "What?" he snapped. "I get your upset but this is no way to treat your family, especially your kids, I can handle it but Bella is devastated." "Whatever." You rolled your eyes and went to the bathroom and change. "Bella go back to bed." "I want mama!" "Bella I said go to bed!" I walked out and Bella was crying in the doorway. You went and picked her up. "She needs to learn to go to bed without us!" He yelled at you. "I don't think you have any right telling how to take care of my kids when you are never home to take care of them yourself but when you are home you want nothing to do with us." You replied calmly and brought Bella back to her bed. You held her in your arms as her crying stopped and breathing slowed and she eventually fell asleep. You tucked her back in and went and check on Lucas who was still fast asleep. You went to your bedroom and Henrik was fuming. "Who do you think you are?! Those are my kids too!" He yelled. "Yeah yeah they are but you should act like it. All Bella wanted was to make you feel better after the loss but you are acting like an asshole." "I'm sorry I got knocked out of the playoffs and was a little bit upset!" "I understand that but you don't need to treat us poorly because you're upset!" "But who are you to stay I don't know how to parent my kids?!" "I never said you don't know how Henrik! You are never home, I practically raise the kids on my own so you have no right to tell me what I'm doing right or wrong. Bella is only four Henrik, if she needs me I'm going to be there. I know for a fact she wishes you were there too but quite frankly you're not." "I am there for her!" "No Henrik you're not, have you been to any of her soccer games? No. What about dance recitals? No you weren't there for that either." "I have a job!" "That's not the problem, the problem is you promise Bella so many things and you never come through with any of it. You get her hopes up and to see her face when things fall through it heartbreaking." "It's not my fault!" "Then stop promising things. Stop promising all of us that you'll be home more. Stop promising that you'll always be there because that one has been broken more than once." "Don't say that." He was pissed at this point. "I'm only speaking the truth." "I'm trying! I'm trying to be home but quite frankly I can't be!" "As I said before don't make promises that you can't keep."
