Empathetic(F)- believe that how decisions impact people is primary; focus on important values for relationships; trust own appraisal of what is relevant
Reasonable vs. Compassionate-
Reasonable(T)- use linear/sequential reasoning, fairness, impartiality as objectives in decision making; confident and clear about decisions
Compassionate(F)- consider needs of individuals as more important than objective criteria; use values as standards for deciding
Questioning vs. Accommodating-
Questioning(T)- ask questions to understand, clarify, gain common ground, solve problems, and find flaws in viewpoints
Accommodating(F)- believe incorporating diverse viewpoints as more effective to gain common ground than confrontation
Critical vs. Accepting-
Critical(T)- use impersonal critique of ideas, situations, procedures to arrive at truth and avoid negative consequences of flawed ideas/plans
Accepting(F)- use understanding and tolerance to arrive at mutually satisfying plan or procedure; flexible and open to a broad range of ideas and beliefs
Tough vs. Tender-
Tough(T)- stand firm on decisions that have been thoroughly considered and critiqued; wish for plans to be implemented quickly and efficiently
Tender(F)- use soft power and personal approach to gain others' agreement
