24.Whispering Closet

After a delicious lunch, we all got ready for dinner. I put my cape on as my parents finished the food. When the time came, I reminded my parents not to tell Anna and John; then I went and hid the closet in the dining room.

Anna and John arrived and all of them began to eat. “So how is James?” my mother asked quickly.

“Oh, I don't know; but I don't think we will see him again,” Anna answered as she looked away.

“Why is that?” my father asked shocked.

“He was taken by a mean man,” John replied quickly.

“Who?” my mom questioned.

“Bob,” I said quickly, but loud enough to hear.

“Yes, it was Bob; but how did you know?” Anna asked perplexed as she glanced around.

“James told us,” my dad answered as he picked at the food on his plate.

“He escaped?” John exclaimed.

“Yes, and he explained everything to us,” my mother told.

“Everything?” Anna gasped.

“Everything,” I answered as I finally stepped out of the closet.

“James!” yelled John as Anna rushed up to hug me.

“How?” Anna asked as she clung to me.

“Calm down dear. Let James eat, while I tell you,” my mother insisted as I sat down and dug in whole-heartily. My mother told John and Anna everything that I had told them and she made sure not to leave out a single detail.
