46.Annie's Kitty
My family soon returned happily from their lunch; so I padded downstairs and we all sat in the living room. “James, did you eat?” my mother asked as she stroked my mane.
“Yes Mom,” I purred.
“I have good news,” announced John quickly.
“What?” I asked as I moved towards Annie, who was playing with her barbies on the carpet.
“Two more lions are coming to stay with us,” he answered as he stared at me.
“Kitty!” yelled Annie as she pulled my tail.
“Annie stop,” commanded Anna as she pulled our daughter away from me.
“Honey, she is fine,” I purred. “Let her play.”
“All right James; but if she starts bothering, you please tell me,” she answered angrily as she let Annie back down.
“Sure dear,” I purred as Annie jumped onto my back. “Hold on Annie,” I roared as I ran around the room and outside. I ran with Anna on my back to the maple tree, where we laid down. Annie chased my tail as I flicked it everywhere.
Anna came and found us as the sun was setting. “James, we need to go in and eat,” Anna told.
“Okay, Annie hop on,” I roared and she climbed onto my back. I carried her to the house, where John met us at the house with a box of the raw meat. “Thanks John,” I said as Annie hopped off and I picked up the rope.
“See you later, James,” John called as I pulled the box to the barn.
“Hey King, I brought food,” I called as I unlocked his stall; then I pulled it inside the stall and dumped it. After we had both ate our fill, I pulled the box back out and locked him in there. I pulled the box to the house before I went inside and laid on the carpet in the living room.
“James, we're home,” called Anna a hour later and I rushed to the door to meet them.
“Hello,” I greeted as rubbed against her legs. “How was your dinner?”
“It was good,” she answered as she finally reached the couch. “How was yours?”
“Delicious,” I answered as I licked my lips.
“We should go up to bed,” my mother said as she and my father stood at the stairs. “We all have had a long day.”
“Okay Mom,” I agreed as everyone stood. “Good night everyone.” John started towards the stairs, when I called, “John wait!”
“Yes James?” he asked as he turned around.
“Should I sleep in the barn?” I asked as he yawned.
“Where ever you want James. You're still human, but a lion too; so you can be anywhere,” he answered before heading to his room. I ran outside to the maple tree and there I fell asleep.
