47.Look Ill? Be Quiet? What?

John came yelling in the morning; so I groggy got up and asked, “What is wrong, John?”

“Good, you can still talk; but right now, I need you to get in a stall and look ill,” he answered urgently.

“Okay John, but why?” I replied confused as I got in a stall.

“A person is bringing the injured lions; plus, he is looking for new ones. Please don't speak English, while he is here,” he pleaded as he locked the stall. I nodded as I laid in the grass, which smelled sweet.

John left; but he soon returned with the man, he had been talking about. “As you can see all of our lions are recovering, but not totally well,” John told the man as they walked past King.

“Yes, I do see; so how much do I have to pay for these two lions to stay here until you find them another home?” the man asked.

“Two hundred each?” John suggested quickly.

“Sounds fair,” the man replied. “Boys, bring them in.” Four large men carried two huge crates with an unconscious lion in each. “Where should they put them?”

“In these stalls,” John answered as he pointed to two stalls. The men gently laid the crates down and pulled the lions out; then they picked up the crates and returned them to the truck. “Let's go to the house and we can talk about the money,” John said before he and the man left.

Anna soon came and let me out of the stall, while I whispered, “Is he gone?”

“No, so be quiet,” she warned as she let King out too. “You two can go explore.”
