33.He Can't So I Won't

I woke hours later very sore and tired. Anna again sat beside me, running her hand through my hair. “James, are you hungry?” she asked sweetly.

“Yes, but when can I go home?” I questioned and she handed me a ham sandwich.

“Soon dear. Soon,” she answered as she got up and left.

I laid back to sleep, but the collar began to shock me. It kept shocking me until I had turned into a lion; so I hid under the blanket until Dr. Jason came and uncovered me. “No! Not again!” he whispered angrily before rushing off to get Anna.

“James, what happened?” she asked quietly. I used my tail to point at the collar, but I was careful not to touch it.

“Oh. He must have had another shock attack,” Dr. Jason guessed and I nodded.

“What do we do now?” she asked as she stared at Dr. Jason.

“We need to get him out of here,” answered Dr. Jason as he peeked outside the curtain. I hopped off the bed and padded into John's area. I sat down beside his bed and began meowing.

“Shh!” whispered Anna as she followed me.

“He can't leave yet,” Dr. Jason told and with that I laid down. I refused to budge; so I fell asleep there beside him and I was very content.

I woke up hours later and I had returned to human; so I sat in the chair beside John's bed and I whispered stuff to him. After about of hour, he finally woke with a huge smile on his face. “Hi John,” I greeted quickly.

“Hi James. Thank you for saving me,” he replied happily.

“Anytime and thank you for changing me,” I told as I stared into his eyes.

“But I ruined your normal life. None of this would have happened if I never had helped Bob,” he said confused.

“True, but I would have never have met you or Dr. Jason. I would have never had mated with Anna and had Annie. I would have never had a real adventure like I have had,” I explained and his smile grew; then the shocks began and I started to yell.

“Anna!” yelled John.

“What?” she asked as she rushed in. “No!” she screamed before she rushed to get a doctor.

“John help me!” I cried before I fainted.
