3.Fully Changed, Can't Walk

The next morning I woke up and tried to walk around, but I kept falling. Once I fell and knocked my head on the dresser, which made John come rushing in. “James! Are you okay?” he asked frantically as he wiped my forehead to clear the little blood from the cut I got.

“Yes John, but my head hurts,” I replied laughing and he seemed to relax.

“Let me help you up,” he commented as he put one hand under my armpit and lifting me to standing.

“Why can't I walk? I was walking just fine yesterday,” I asked worried as I sat down on the bed.

“Your tail is gone; so you're not used to it. A lion's tail provides balance, but don't fret because you will be walking in no time,” he laughed as he looked at my legs carefully.

“Okay, but what about the iron poles in my legs?” I asked as I ran my finger over the scars in my legs.

“You will have a little pain, but it won't stop you from walking,” he answered; then he pulled some out some real clothes and commanded, “Put these on, but let me help you into the bathroom.” He put his arm around my waist and helped me into the bathroom; then I used the sink to hold myself up. I was so glad, when I noticed the fur was gone; then I quickly changed the robe for jeans and a shirt. I stared into the mirror for several minutes, looking into my own blue eyes and glancing over my red hair. I was tall, much taller for sure from when I first was changed; but I was only a little shorter than John. I was defiantly more muscular in both my arms and my legs than him.

I carefully made my way towards the bed, but I slipped again. John rushed over to me and helped me to the bed. “What now? I have changed all the way now,” I told confused. 'Was I supposed to live in this room for a year?' I thought to myself.

“Don't worry about that. I have everything planned. Once you can walk very well, we will go live with Anna and the best part is she lives right next to your parents. Oh and there is one other thing. I'm going to teach you to drive,” he declared as he looked at me with an amused expression.

“Cool and thanks John for everything,” I said very happy.

“You're welcome James. Let's go to the gym. Maybe if you walk on the treadmill, you will improve faster,” he commented as he helped me up and down the hall. I felt funny as the people stared at me because they knew that there had been a lion in that room.

I got on the treadmill and held onto the handles as tight as I could. John started it with a push of a red button, but it went extremely slow. About a hour later, I could walk without holding the handles, but it was still very slow. John brought lunch into the gym and we ate the sandwiches; then he had me walk for another hour on a little faster speed before I had to return to the room.
