28.Decision Made and Rejected
I got up hours later and went back down. The shocking had ceased and Dr. Jason was still there. All of them were discussing plans of removing the collar. “I have decided,” I declared firmly as I stood in front of them.
“What?” Anna asked puzzled.
“I'm going to return to your father, Anna. There is nothing else to do; unless, I stay hidden forever,” I answered and my parents began crying.
“No James! He'll kill you!” Anna cried as she ran up and hugged onto me.
“But if I don't go, he will find me and kill me anyway,” I wept; then I ran back upstairs.
Anna followed me and sat by me as she told, “I'm going to go talk to my father tomorrow.”
“No, you can't!” I hissed.
“I can and I will!” she declared as she stared ferociously into my eyes. She wasn't scared of me or any lions.
“No! Please! He will capture you too!” I roared as my tail grew and waved quickly.
“John will be there to protect me,” she told before she kissed my cheek.
“But I should be there too,” I cried as I felt the fur sweep up my body.
“If you go, he will capture you again and shock you,” she cried and my mane became fluffy.
“I love you!” I roared; then I was quiet.
