25.He Told Us the Truth!

When I finally finished, pretty much clearing the table of meat, Anna asked me, “What will you do now?”

“I don't know. OW!” I hissed and I crumbled into a ball on the floor.

“Anna, what's happening to him?” my mother screamed as she knelt down next to my head.

“My father has put a shock collar on James and my dad must have just realized that he was missing,” Anna quickly answered as she rubbed my arm.

I kept yelling out in pain as my father asked, “What should we do?”

“Hide him somewhere his yells won't be heard,” Anna replied as she glanced at my dad.

“Why don't we try to take the collar off?” my father suggested as he reached down.

“NO! You will be shocked if you try,” John screamed as he grabbed my dad's hand.

“Can he hide at your house?” my mother asked and Anna stared at the ground.

“No, sadly my dad has cameras set up everywhere,” sobbed Anna.

“ROAR!” I cried as I changed into a lion and the shocks continued.

“Wow. He told us the truth!” my mom screamed quickly.

“Do you think he would lie about something like this?” my wife asked shocked.

“Mr. Otter, do you have an attic?” John inquired as he looked at my dad.

“Yes, but why John?” my father answered confused.

“Let's hide him there,” John suggested.

“James, can you follow me?” Anna pleaded over my cries of pain. I let out a little roar as I staggered to my paws. I followed Anna up the stairs and into the attic. She kissed me; then she left. They locked me up there as I began to cry.

After a while the shocking ceased and my mother came up. She sat nearby me and asked calmly, “James, do you understand me?” I nodded and she continued, “John and Anna left. John is going to have Dr. Jason come and see if he can remove the collar.” I quickly roared my protest, but she still continued, “It will be fine, dear. Now I brought you some blankets. You need to sleep. Good night dear.” She kissed me; then she hurried down the stairs and locked me up there again. I curled up in the fleecy blankets and soon fell asleep.
