45.Complete?

In the morning, I woke before my wife did; so I got up on my four paws and went outside. I cried a little before running to the far corner. I paced under the tree until I cried myself to sleep again.

Anna and John found me a hour later and they were shocked when they saw me. “James, you scared me this morning when you were gone; but I understand,” she cried as she hugged onto me, burying her face in my red mane.

“Well, I guess your transformation is complete now,” John said sadly.

“Almost,” I replied in perfect English.

“You can talk to us!” she exclaimed as she held me tighter.

“Well, that is excellent,” John laughed as he came closer.

“What now?” I asked confused.

“We get you out of your ripped clothes,” chuckled Anna as she began ripping the remains off.

“Oh,” I purred as John helped pull everything off. “Now what?” I asked still laughing.

“Go back to the house,” he told as he crawled out from under the tree.

I asked concerned as I followed him and Anna, “What about my parents?”

“They will be fine,” she answered before she rushed off.

“Let's go,” commanded John before I raced him to the house.

Anna met us at the door and said, “It is safe; so come right in.” We went into the living room, where John and Anna sat on the couch and I laid happily on the floor. My parents and Dr. Jason soon joined us and I relaxed as they stared at me.

“So what do we do now?” my mother asked and I guessed Anna hadn't told them.

“It isn't totally complete,” I purred as I looked at my mom.

“Okay, what do we do now that it is almost complete?” my mother asked in the shock of me talking.

“There is not much to do different,” Anna answered as I moved closer to her legs and she reached down to pet my head.

“Let's eat then,” my father suggest before heading into the kitchen.

“You guys go out to eat. John, can you tie a rope to a box of meat and I'll take it to King,” I replied as I got up and headed towards the back door.

“Are you sure that you don't mind, dear?” my mother asked as everyone stood.

“Positive. I will keep King company,” I answered as John tied a box quickly. “Thanks John,” I said before grabbing the rope between my teeth and began pulling it towards the barn. I carefully pulled the box into the barn and over to King. I dumped the meat all over the floor and we both devoured it happily. When we were finished, I said, “Let me check your legs.”

“Shouldn't your friend do that or you be a human?” he asked confused.

“It is fine, King; plus, I can't be a human anymore,” I answered sadly as I moved towards his hind legs.

“But you changed the other day,” he growled.

“Well, I can't now!” I hissed as I undid the bandages with my claw. “They look a lot better. How do they feel?”

“Much better than when I got here,” he purred as he glanced at his legs.

“Try to stand,” I commanded and he stood, but he tried to take a step and he fell.

“Great! I can't walk!” he hissed, which made me purr. “What's so funny?”

“I thought that once when my legs were broken; but don't worry, you will be walking soon,” I purred. “Try again and this time, I will help you.” He stood and I had him lean against me as he took a couple steps. “See I told you.”

“Yes,” he snarled as he placed his paws to pounce.

“Calm down. You're not in the condition to fight and think about what happen last time you did,” I roared before I pulled the box out of the stall and close the door. I padded to the house and stepped on the special door pad, that John had created just for me to be able to get into the house as a lion. I went to my room and gripped a book lightly between my jaws. I carefully used my claws to turn the pages; so I could read.
