18.Fail At Cleaning

In the morning, I was human again; but I was terribly upset. I showered and changed, being careful not to touch the shock collar; then I tried the door. It opened with ease; so I headed downstairs, only to find a little toast and a list left for me. The list had a chores to do before he got back; so I quickly began because of the fear of being shocked yet again. I cleaned and washed for hours before going upstairs to sleep.

He returned while I was sleeping and obviously not pleased because I received a shock. I rushed down, where he met me at the kitchen table. “Yes sir?” I stuttered as I shook a little from the last shock.

“You did horrible,” he replied angrily as he held up the list.

“But I haven't been taught to clean. Anna and John hadn't gotten around to it; plus, you turned me into a lion at eight,” I answered promptly.

“Well, you better learn fast,” he ordered as he slammed the list onto the table.

“When do I get to go home?” I asked as I began to slowly back up.

“Tomorrow,” he answered gruffly. “Now to your room with no food.” I quickly obeyed and went to bed with my stomach growling.
