27.What If...Wait! Bomb!

After a while I did fall asleep when the shocking ceased again, but only to be woken to Anna sitting beside me. I purred as she kissed my forehead; then I stretched and I was so happy that I had returned to human. “How are you feeling, James?” she asked concerned.

“I have been better,” I joked as I put my arm around her.

“Any more shocks?” she inquired.

“A few,” I answered sadly.

“Dr. Jason is coming in a few minutes,” Anna told me calmly.

“What if...” I started quickly.

“What if you change?” she laughed and was so good to hear her laugh. “Do you know why you got a job at the clinic?”

“Because I'm John's friend?” I answered puzzled.

“Yes that, but Dr. Jason is John's twin brother. John has told Dr. Jason everything. There is nothing to worry about,” she replied still laughing and I laughed too.

John came up and said, “He is here. James come.”

I followed him downstairs and into the living room, where Dr. Jason sat talking with my parents about the past two days. They stopped and looked at me, while I stood there in rags. “Hello James, nice to see you again. I wish it was better reasons, but see lets see if I can get rid of your problem,” greeted Dr. Jason as he came closer to look at the collar.

“Dr. Jason, don't touch it,” I commanded as his hand came near to it.

“I won't, James. Can you try to get it off?” he asked quickly. I reached up and tried to remove it, but I only got shocked and cried out in pain. “Okay. Well, that won't work. Um...” he pondered. “Water?”

“Nope, I can take showers and it doesn't die,” I answered as I shook my head.

“Um a bomb?” he thought out loud.

“No!” I screamed in fright.

“HAHA! A small one that would fry the circuits,” Dr. Jason laughed.

“Oh,” I replied still scared.

“Anything else?” Anna asked as she held my hand.

“Um, if we had the remote, we could turn it off,” Dr. Jason answered quickly.

“Too bad, my dad has it,” wept Anna and I put an arm around her.

“Um, we could try to cut it?” Dr. Jason suggested as he rubbed his chin.

“It might wo...HELP!” I cried in pain as the shocks started again.

Dr. Jason looked at John and commanded, “John help me take him to the attic quick.” They picked me up and carried me all the way to the attic. After they put me down, I blacked out and couldn't remember much. All I could remember was pain and lots of it.
