19.Lie or Scream. Your Choice

The next morning, I found a tray full of food, that I quickly devoured. I changed clothes and combed my hair; then I rushed downstairs. Sadly Bob was at the bottom, waiting for me. “James remember what I told you,” he commanded in his sternest voice.

“Yes sir. Can I go now?” I gulped as I grabbed my jacket.

“Yes, but be back here by tomorrow at eight in the night,” he ordered as I hopped in the car; then I drove to Anna's house.

I arrived home to find John and Anna, waiting at the front door. I ran up to Anna and John and hugged them close as I whispered repeatably, “I missed you.”

“Welcome back,” they replied as they took me inside and we sat on the sofa.

“How was the trip?” Anna asked as she leaned against me.

“What trip? Oh! Ouch! The trip was great,” I answered as I rubbed my neck after the shock. They stared at my puzzled, but they didn't say anything. “So how have you been?” I inquired before kissing Anna's forehead.

“Very good, but defiantly better now that you're back,” she replied as she pulled her hand gently through my shaggy, red hair.

“Ooo,” I purred before I kissed her again.

“James, what is on your neck?” John asked as he moved closer to better examine it.

“Oh, it is a necklace Bob gave me,” I answered quickly and luckily I didn't receive a shock.

“Can I see it?” John inquired as he moved even closer.

“Ye...OUCH! I mean No! No, you can't” I yelped as pain shot through my body.

“Are you okay, dear?” Anna asked confused as she scooted a little back to stared at me.

“Yea, I'm fine,” I mumbled under my breath.

“Then why do you keep yelling?” John asked as he put his hand near the collar.

“Oh! I have a bad sunburn,” I replied quickly.

“Ah,” he replied before he touch it. “OW!” John and I both received a nasty shock. “James, why do you have a shock collar?”

“A shock collar? No. No. This is... a cool neck collar,” I responded quickly. “I have good news!” I shouted, hoping to change the topic.

“What?” Anna asked as she stared at John's hand, that had turned red.

“I'm going to go live and work for your father, Anna,” I answered, trying to keep a grin on my face.

“What about the clinic?” John questioned as he rubbed his hand still.

“Please tell Dr. Jason that I quit,” I replied sadly.

“When do we go to live with father?” she cried as she stood and looked around, trying to figure out what she needed to pack.

“I'll go tomorrow. Anna, you will stay here with John,” I cried as I stood and wrapped her in my arms.

“Will I get to see you?” she asked quickly.

“Weekends,” I told before running upstairs.

I went into my room and packed my things, which wasn't much; then I got a piece of paper and a pen. I ran into the bathroom and I wrote-Dear Anna and John. I'm sorry about this, but I can't tell you all I want to. Be careful is what you always told me and now I let my guard down; so I must pay. Please hurry and find the money to change me back! Yours truly, James. I left the letter on the small table in the bathroom, where I hoped Bob's cameras couldn't see. I went into the bedroom and got furious; so I turned into a lion. I don't know why I got mad, but all I could figure out is that Bob was behind it. I laid on the bed, staring at the ceiling until I fell asleep.
