CLARRISSA

I suddenly woke up. Catching my breath. That scene. I shook my head to remove my thoughts. Tsk.

Umangat ako ng ulo sa harapan at nakitang nagtuturo ang guro namin sa Language dito. Napailing nalang ako nung nabasa ang mga nakasulat sa board. Hindi ko napansin ang pamamawis ng noo ko until someone placed a tissue on my forehead causing it to stick. Napa-lingon ako sa likod ko and saw kuya Dylan smiling at me.

"You alright?" I slowly nodded at him before using the tissue para punasan ang noo ko. Ew. I'm covered by my own sweat. I heard him chuckled at my back pero hindi ko siya pinansin at pinagpatuloy ang pagpupunas sa mukha ko.

Not long after, I heard the school beng rang and my teacher bidding goodbye. I sighed. Nagtataka parin ako kung bakit hindi nila ako ginigising sa klase. Tsk. Nilabas ko ang phone ko at tinext si kuya Justus para magpasundo.

Tumayo na ako at palabas na sana ng classroom pero may humawak sa braso ko dahilan na mapatigil ako.

"Can we, uhm, talk?" Napakunot ako ng noo pero napatango rin naman. Sumunod ako sa kanya palabas ng classroom at patungo sa isang hallway na halos walang dumadaan. We stopped there then he faced me.

"Ano yun?" I can notice the seriousness in his face and it's making me nervous.

"I just, ano. Can you please take care of yourself? I mean, you know. It's not safe around and I want you to never go anywhere alone." I narrowed my eyes at him. Something's going on at the Empire. I can tell.

"Why? I mean, may dapat ba akong malaman? Well, since you mentioned, 'defend', at least let me know me know what I'm defending myself from, right?" Natigilan siya. He seems to be caught off guard at my response. Then, his lips twitched almost smiling.

"You really are something, Clarrissa. You remind me of someone." I noticed an emotion passed his eyes but then he smiled and ruffled my hair. I scoffed at him and almost mentioned 'Nate' but stopped myself.

"Just, take care, alright? Come on, ihahatid na kita sa--" His words trailed off. I followed his gaze. Ooohhh. Sky.

"Sky." I said. She turned her gaze to me from Nathan.

"Ah, uhm. Kasi! Ate nga itawag mo sakin!" I smirked. Distracting yourself, huh? I passed beside her and whispered,

"Go on, talk to him. Sayang opportunity. Besides, you love each other naman diba?" She glared at me pero hindi ko siya pinansin at naglakad na paalis. Hindi ko na rin pinansin si kuya Nate at iniwan silang dalawa dun. Napailing nalang ako. Pag sila hindi pa nagusap, aalamin ko na kung ano talagang nangyari sakanila.

Dumiretso ako sa parking lot and saw kuya Justus checking our car's windshield. I went near him.

"Hey." He looked at me and bowed his head, showing sign of respect pero I just tapped his shoulder and went inside the car.

Sumunod na rin naman siya and we went straight to Ate Sky's home. I slept throughout the ride. Yeah, halos buong araw tulog lang ata ang nagawa ako. I just woke up from the light tapping of my cheek and kuya Justus' voice saying we're here already.

Bago ako bumaba, I talked to him.

"We'll be going to ReOw's hideout. Tell the others to prepare theirselves. Magaayos lang rin ako at aalis na tayo."
