When we finally landed, I quickly left the plane before Emily could stop me. It would be really awkward with her, but I had to deal with it because I still love her, and even if she doesn't love me I can't live without her.

"Liam!" I heard someone shout behind me. I turned around and saw the girls running toward me. "Wait up, we're riding together! Your hotel is a couple blocks from the apartment." Bri said as they finally caught up to me.

"Right... let's go get our stuff." I said starting to walk toward the baggage claim. Although the girls didn't say a word, I heard them walking behind me.

After we had gotten our baggage, I followed the girls out to the parking lot where we were going to catch a cab, but of course were met by paparazzi.

"Liam! Look over here!" one shouted.

"What are you doing in New York?" the other asked.

"Who's the girl?" one asked, but I just pushed past all of them until I caught up with the girls. I stood as a barrier as the paparazzi followed me, making sure they wouldn't touch any of the girls, especially Maya; Emily would never forgive me for that.

"Liam, just look at the camera!" one yelled from behind me. I huffed and walked a little faster, pushing Emily forward to get away from the men faster.

After getting a cab, we sat in it and the man started driving toward Times Square, where my hotel was.

Emily had brought up the idea of me staying with her, but it would just be a mess with the press, and it would be way too awkward. I would just stare at her the whole time, and I would get way too attached; even though it was only two nights.

"So what did you name your painting?" I heard Bri whisper, or try to whisper, to Emily.

"Thoughts..." Emily said quietly, but I could hear her loud and clear.

I wondered what her thoughts were. Were they about me, or something more? Was her head full of things, from Maya to her work or school? Was I even in her thoughts?

"Where would you like me to drop you off?" the cab driver asked as we got into the heavy traffic of Times Square.

"Just outside the front would be fine." I replied taking out my wallet, "I'll pay both fares." I said handing the man a couple more dollars than needed to cover the girls trip to their apartment.

"Liam it's fine. I can pay for cab fare." Emily grabbed my shoulder before I could get out.

"No, I already paid." I said quietly before getting out and going to the trunk to get my suitcase.

I closed the trunk and watched as the cab rolled off.

*Emily's POV*

After Liam got out of the cab, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I felt the cab jerk, and I saw the streets of New York move past me.

"What was that all about?" Bri asked.

"I don't even know..." I sighed, and started to rub my temples in frustration. I didn't even know what happened, it just became really awkward after Liam brought up the kiss on the plane, and I think that he is a little upset, if not a lot.

It hurt so much to tell him that the kiss was nothing, because it was something. It was everything, but I had to hold all of it in, for me and Liam, and especially Maya. She didn't deserve any of this. She deserves a father, she deserves someone who can actually take care of her, not me.

I didn't even realize that a tear had left my eye, until I felt Bri wipe it away.

"We're here..." she whispered and started to take Maya out of the car. I quickly slipped out, thanking the driver, and took my luggage along with Maya's up to my apartment.

Once in the apartment, I threw all of the stuff by the door and sat down on the couch, huffing and laying down, closing my eyes for a moment before I heard Maya call from the other room.

"I'll be right there." I called back and stood up slowly, before Bri pushed me back down on the couch.

"I'll get her." She said and walked over to the other room. I silently thanked her, and laid back down.

I never really fell asleep, more of a thinking session if you can call it that. I started to tear up again, just as Bri walked in.

"I just put her down for her nap, what do..." she started to say, but then ran over quickly. "What's wrong?"

"I just... Maya needs... someone better." I stutter out in between sobs. I started to say something else, but Bri pulled me in before I could say anything.

"Don't say that. Maya has an amazing mother. You are amazing." She says into my neck, but I pull away from her and look at her in the eyes.

"I'm not talking about me, Maya needs a father." I said quietly, looking away from her eyes.

"Well Emily, I wish I could do something about that, but you know I can't. You are the only one who can do something here." She said, looking right at me.

"Bri you know I can't..."

"Emily, don't even. You have all the control of this situation, and you need to take control and do what you want. I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I will tell you this. What you just told me, is what you need to base your decision off of. You want this for Maya, so do this for Maya. Make your decision for Maya." She said before getting up and walking toward the kitchen.

I sat and thought about what I had to do. And I knew I had to tell him.
