"Liam, you should go to your hotel, you've been here all day, take a break." Bri said from next to me.
"No it's ok, I want to be here when she wakes up." I insisted, trying to keep my drooping eyes open to protect the broken girl lying in front of me.
"Liam, you know what the doctors said..." Bri started to remind me but I sat up and stared at her.
"I know what he said, but I don't care. I will be here when she wakes up." I yelled. I guess two straight days of sitting here has really taken its toll on me. I haven't slept in about twenty hours and I've been living off hospital mashed potatoes for two days.
"Liam, I am really sorry, but you need some sleep. And you need to get back to your tour soon."
"I know Bri, but I can't just leave." I sighed and leaned my head back down onto the bed.
"Liam, she's not leaving, she's just in a coma." Bri tried to explain and reassure me, but it just broke my heart even more. I looked up and saw Emily laying there, her usually greenish-gray eyes hidden by the eyelids that were closed.
"I know, but I..." I tried to come up with an excuse but couldn't come up with one.
"You are getting on a plane tomorrow and going back to your tour." Bri announced and put her hand on her hip.
"What?" I asked, standing up and walking up to her.
"I got you a ticket to LA and it leaves tomorrow at two." She said, like it was no big deal, "You'll be in LA in time for your show."
"Bri, I can't just get up and leave like that. What about Maya?" I asked, making any excuse so I wouldn't have t leave.
"I'll take care of her, it's no hassle." She answered looking down at Maya who was coloring a picture for her mom.
"No, I can't just leave my daughter while I leave again." I argued back.
"Well do you have a better solution?" Bri asked.
"How about I take her?" I said, thinking of something off the top of my head.
"I don't know about that, you know how Emily feels about all the paparazzi and everything..." Bri trailed off.
"I know, but if I can't have Emily, I at least want to be with Maya." I said, sitting back down on the chair and fixing one of Maya's pigtails.
"Liam, I know you are her father, but I just don't know how Emily would feel about this."
"I'm her father, I have a say too. And I think it's best for her to be with me, and right now that means being on tour with me."
"Is it better for her or you?" Bri asked and turned around before I could say something back.
"I'm going to go get some food for Maya, when I come back you're packing up your little bag and going to sleep. I'll go home with Maya so you can sleep on the extra bed." Bri said and walked out of the room, leaving me with Maya and Emily.
"Daddy, are you leaving?" Maya asked.
"I am sweetie, but only for a little while." I answered, picking her up off the floor and placing her in my lap.
"I don't want you to go." She said, looking down and our intertwined hands.
"I don't want to go either..." I mumbled. "But you have to stay with Bri for a little bit because you can't go with me."
"Why not?" she asked, looking at me with her beautiful brown eyes.
"Because mommy wouldn't be too happy about me taking you, and I don't want to upset mommy." I answered but Maya just gave me a puzzled look. "Where I'm going is a place where there aren't any little kids, it's just adults and a lot of noise and lights.
