*Emily’s POV*

“So, you have no one that would do this?” Collin asked, looking through his notes of the past hour.

“No, I don’t know anyone that would put in a report.” I answered.

“Ok, well I think we are done here. Remember the court date is in three days.” He said as all of us stood up. Two hours of sitting on the ground really makes your foot asleep.

“Alright, do you want to meet there?” Liam asked.

“Yeah, get there at around ten, and the actual court session will start at eleven.” Collin nodded and walked us to the door.

“Thanks so much again.” Liam said, putting out his hand for Collin to shake.

“No problem, always happy to help.” Collin smiled and shook Liam’s hand.

“Thank you so much Collin,” I leaned in to give Collin a hug, “you don’t know how much this means to me.”

“Really, it’s no problem, you’re giving me some experience, that’s a lot of help to.” Collin smiled as I leaned back out of the hug.

“Well, see you on Tuesday,” Collin smiled to us, “drive safe.” And then he closed the door.

“Do you really think that someone put in a fake report?” Liam asked once we were in the car. We were out of our costumes so it wasn’t too uncomfortable.

“I don’t know, all I know is someone put in that report on purpose to take Maya away from me.” I sneered. Even thinking about it made me sick.

For the past couple of days that’s all I was thinking about, and I just wanted the thoughts out of my head and Maya back in my arms.

“It’s going to be alright, we’ll get her back.” Liam reassured me and reached for my hand. As soon as our hands touched my heart skipped a beat, but then suddenly he pulled his hand away, and my heart went back to its normal beat.

“Yeah…” I nodded, no truth behind my words. But hopefully there would be.

“Hey there Em, where have you been?” one of my friends, Maria, asked as I sat down at my usual seat in class.

“There is just so much going on, I don’t know where to start.” I sighed and started taking out all of my supplies.

“Why don’t you start from the beginning?” Maria smiled and I turned to her and started laughing.

Maria was my really good friend, and she was a bit nosey, but I didn’t mind. It was nice having another girl, other than Bri, to talk to. She really did give the best advice.

“So what are you going to do?” she asked, after I finished explaining my dilemma.

“Well we are going to court on Tuesday.” I said, mixing the blue and green on my color pallet to finish painting my small project.

“You hangin’ in there?” she asked, not looking over from her canvas.

            “Barely.” I laughed lightly.
