I was helping Maya into her dress as I heard the door knock.

"Who is it?" I called not looking away from Maya's dress.

"Who do you think would be running around going crazy on her wedding day?" I heard the familiar voice on the other side of the door.

"Come in Bri..." I chuckled and the door was pushed open, a frantic Bri stepping through it.

"I can't find it!" she yelled, stomping her foot on the ground.

"Find what?" I asked, standing up from my crouched position next to Maya. I looked over at Bri and saw her eyes wide in terror.

"My veil!" she cried out, plopping down on the bed behind her. I laughed and walked over to my bag.

"How can you be laughing about this?" she asks, tears in her eyes, "this is very important!"

I continued smiling at the crazy bride-to-be sitting in front of me. I pulled out the veil from my bag, but she didn't see it because her face was buried in her hands.

"How can you lose something I never gave to you?" I laughed and she looked up, taking the veil from me and giving me a big hug.

"And this is why your my maid of honor." She smiled, and kissed my cheek.

"You're welcome!" I called after her and went back to fixing Maya's dress. She looked a little mad when I turned back to face her.

"What is it?" I asked her, trying to conceal the smile I wanted to show. Seeing her in her cute little dress with her cheeks puffed up and her arms crossed in anger was too cute.

"Why can't I have a veil too?" she asked, her eyes filled with sadness and her body language showing her anger.

"Well, six year old girls don't have veils..." I started to explain, "but six year old girls who are flower girls have a basket full of flower petals." I smiled and handed her the basket that perfectly matched her light pink dress.

Her arms immediately unfolded to reach out for the basket, and her face brightened to its usual smile.

"Alright, are we all good?" I asked smiling at her. She nodded and ran out of the small bedroom and toward Bri. I could hear her calling for Bri as she ran around the hotel room.

I stood up of the floor and sat down on the bed in the room. I heard Bri's knock on the door, but I just didn't acknowledge it. I knew she would come in anyway.

"What's wrong?" she asked sitting next to me.

"Nothing..." I smiled at her but she just rolled her eyes and hugged me.

"It's ok to be upset. It's been almost three years..." she started to say but I shook my head.

"Please, it's your wedding day, and I just want to not talk about it. Today is all about you." I smiled and stood up.

"Well if it is, then why aren't you in your dress yet?" she laughed pointing to the dress bag hanging in the closet, "The photographer is going to be here in an hour, and you still need hair and makeup!"

"Alright, I'm going." I smiled and closed the door after she left. I took the light pink dress out of its bag and started to take off my pajamas.

As I was putting on the elegant dress, my mind wandered to what Bri had mentioned before. It had been almost three years since I last saw Liam. I know I told him I just needed a little time, but it turned out to be longer.

After I left, Liam called me every day, just to talk and ask about Maya. Soon it turned into once a week, and then once a month, and then he just didn't call. He called on Maya's birthday and on mine, but it was just a quick phone call. I dropped hints to him to come visit, like saying 'Maya misses you' and 'New York weather isn't so bad this winter', but he didn't get it.
