It had been two days since I bumped into Liam. He had been texting me non-stop, asking to meet up and talk about things. He was only in town for a week so I figured to just get it over with, so we were meeting up tonight. I was meeting Liam at the back of his hotel and he was taking us to some secret location.

I had explained to Liam multiple times that this was, under no circumstances, a date, but it was starting to feel like one.

“So what are you going to wear?” Bri asked as she walked into my room with Maya in her hands. Bri was going to babysit while I went out.

“Probably just a shirt and shorts… it is not a date!” I reassure her as I continue looking through my closet until I came across a casual teal blouse and a black jacket to go over it, matched with denim shorts and gold flats.

After I got dressed I said goodbye to Maya and Bri, who were staying in my apartment for the night, and walked out to my car. It was an old Ford Mustang, but I loved it. And although it had a dent in the side and would occasionally break down, it got me from place to place, and was all I could afford at the moment.

On the way to the hotel Liam had given me the name of, I started thinking. Was this really a good idea? What if I let something slip about Maya, or if he thought this was something more than what it actually is?

I was pulled out of my thoughts by a horn from behind me. I started driving forward until I drove up to the hotel. Of course, it was the one and only plaza hotel. Probably one of the most expensive hotels in New York; but I would expect nothing less for superstars.

I followed Liam’s instructions and drove around to the back of the hotel.  Once I was in the back parking lot, I sat and waited for Liam to come out. It was only a couple of minutes until there was a knock on my window. I looked up to see the one and only Liam. I opened the door and let him in.

“Nice ride you got here.” He smiled as he reached for the seat belt.

“Hey, don’t insult Margaret!” I slap Liam’s arm. He looks at me, shocked. “What?”

“You named your car?” he asks, his eyebrow raising.

“Yes…” I slowly answer, “Don’t judge me! You’re the one with four arrows tattooed onto your arm.” I quickly come back, sticking out my tongue.

“I’ll have you know that that is very symbolic…” Liam answers, and we both burst out in laughter. It’s been a long time since we last just sat and had a laugh.

“Well, where are we headed?” I ask, breaking the laughing fit.

“Just go to this address.” Liam hands me a piece of paper, after he finally settles down.

“Alright captain!” I gesture, and start driving to the address. The address showed about a thirty minute drive to the ocean side of the city. I braced myself for whatever was in store for me, because whenever you went on a date with Liam Payne, it was a night to remember, and not always for the better.

After the short drive, we finally pulled up to a small restaurant next to the ocean. Once I got out of the car, I looked over at Liam who was already walking over to the front door of the restaurant.

“I thought we were going to coffee?” I asked, following Liam toward the door.

“Well, since you agreed to go out with me I decided to take advantage and add a little ‘pizzazz’ to this date.” Liam smiled opening the door for me and then leading me toward the maitre de of the restaurant.
