Background Story: Will and his sister, Mill, were born in Collinsport, Maine founded by their family, the Collins. They live in their family estate, Collinwood with their parents and other relatives. Their father, Barnabas Collins, was cursed by a jealous witch named Angelique and cursed his family name. Years later, he was accidentally awakened from his coffin by construction workers. He returned to Collinwood and fell in love with Victoria Winters who was the spitting image of his fianceé, Josette du Pres who had fallen to her death off a cliff in a trance-like state. Angelique had build a growing company that caused the Collins family company to go out of business. Then a fight ensued after the witch tried to reenact the ordeal that sent Barnabas into his coffin in the first place. Victoria dove off the same cliff just like Josette, but Barnabas dove after her and turned her into a vampire. Carolyn was released from her werewolf curse and the remaining members of the Collins family (minus David's father), including Dr. Hoffman, were turned in vampires.
