He and Ulrich used to get along and play with each other, but then when Frederick became obsessed with studying science and anatomy and Ulrich became bitter and cold-blooded after a harsh break-up, they became estranged from each other. Frederick became a professor at a medical college where Ulrich was enrolled and attended his class. Frederick studied anatomy, meteorology and otorhinolaryngology. Until he was fired for drinking on the job and was sent to re-study at a different school, Peregrine Academy with his two brothers.

He specializes in neurosurgery, organ procurement, Louisiana Voodoo and hoodoo; for he is known to making voodoo dolls resembling people he hates to inflict harm (and sometimes death) on them.
