Lucy leaving Mae and the rest of her friends for France still had an effect on everyone, even though that event happened 3 days ago. Mae wasn't used to not having her best friend around her. She could only be consoled by hugs from her friends.
"Hey Mae! Aren't you excited to go to Dorney Park?" [a/n: we're in new york, okay] Mae didn't reply, her eyes fixated on the blue thumbtack on the wall.
"Hey, Mae!" Jackson called out, waving his hand in front of her eyes, and she shook her head, leaving her trance.
"Yeah, totally! And by the way, happy birthday Jackson!" Mae replied, wrapping Jackson in a hug.
"Guys, we gotta go...they're calling us for the buses!" Minhee shouted, grabbing Mae by the arm and they ran to the bus to get a seat they liked.
"I hope she's okay now," Jasper muttered softly, Jackson not hearing and babbling about nonsense to Alex. As their names were called and they chose their seats, Minhee somehow found the seat that was adjacent to Jasper, causing Mae to frown and grumble a bit. Yes, Mae was jealous.
"Mae! Stop frowning! You've got to make the best of your day here-Lucy wouldn't like it if you were sad!" Moni said, rubbing her friend's shoulders.
"I suppose. Besides, I need to make sure that Minhee doesn't intrude on you and your boyfriend," Mae teased, earning a soft glare from Moni [a/n: Monam13 you know what i'm talking about, don't you? *winks aggressively*] The hour long bus ride was spent with everyone doing basically nothing on the bus; just chilling while listening to music and taking pictures of everyone to use as blackmail, and they arrived at Dorney Park.
"Remember that you need to come back here, to the main entrance, by 3:30. And stick with a buddy. You'll be safer that way," the gym teacher instructed and then allowed everyone to go explore the park.
"Guys, we should stick together," Mae supplied, seeing Jackson and Alex already hyper and screaming about how they were going to make fun of Minhee all day.
"Well, Mae, we will. It's just a matter of us not getting lost."
"Don't worry; I'll make sure that we don't," Jasper replied, pulling up a picture of a map on his phone.
"Okay...well I'm going to go look for places to eat while you guys hang out. Make sure that you have my phone number and your money."
"Okay, mum," Alex replied, rolling his eyes.
"Hey, Mae! Come on Steel Force with us at least?" Minhee pleaded, bringing out her puppy face. Mae ruffled Minhee's hair.
"I'll come on all the rides with you, I promise. I'll just skip the water rides you guys go on. But I'm coming now, okay?" The group walked through the gate and sat on the ride; Minhee gave Mae a smirk, watching as Jasper coincidentally chose to sit right in between them two.
