Chapter Eleven: You might be tempted to sell them on the black market
When Jayden's car picked me up the following weekend, my stomach was in so many knots it was a wonder I hadn't thrown up everything I'd eaten for lunch. Zoe was out with Jorden, but Taylor was with me and she gave me an encouraging hug at the door as the car idled by the sidewalk.
"You'll be fine." She said, smiling at me as she rubbed my shoulders. I sent her the straightest smile I could muster and made my way down the stairs to wear the car the waiting. When Danny opened the door for me, he took hold of my elbow to help me in, almost as if he knew I didn't have complete control over my legs.
Getting ready for the big event past so quickly I could barely remember any of it later that night. My dress fitted me like a glove and I felt like a film star, twirling in exsited circles for the five minute photoshoot they made me do in preparation for the paparazzi. My hair was twisted in an elaborate spiral bun at the back of my head and I had so much makeup on I was practically a walking Disney princess. It was also a myrical I hadn't face planted onto the sidewalk because of the huge heels the stylist had physically shoved on my feet. Apparently the company who made them was sponcering my dress.
When I got into the car on the way to the premier, I let out a deep breath, so deep it made my ribs crack. Jayden, sitting across from me in a well fitted suit with a dark red tie to match my dress raised an eyebrow in my direction.
"Relax." He said, when he saw my leg jigging up and down. "It's a piece of cake."
"Easy for you to say." I said, glaring at him. You've done this before. You could do it blindfolded." Jayden smiled.
"I probably could you know." He said with a grin. "But that doesn't mean I want to be doing it either." I blinked at him.
"I thought you loved acting."
"Loved might be a bit of a strong word." Jayden answered. "I enjoy acting."
"What's the difference?" I asked, leaning back in my seat.
"The difference." Said Jayden, turning his gaze from me to the window, "is that with acting I could take it or leave it. I only stick around because I'm good at it." I raised an eyebrow.
"Why." Jayden turned towards me with a half smile.
"Sorry baby doll, but I don't know you well enough to be giving away my life's secrets. You might be tempted sell them on the black market."
"Yeah well." I said, rummaging around in the silver purse the stylist had given me until I found some bandaids, "you hardly know me well enough to call me that do you? So I'll tell you again, for the third time. Don't call me baby doll."
Jayden suddenly bent down, reaching for something under the seat,.
"What are you doing?" I asked. Hesuddenly resurface, and I realised with a jerk of horror that he was holding my lion king purse between his fingers.
